here's my feedback for the week:

@yilan: liking the techno twist, tho i confess i expected something completely different from what you described last week (four tet's method b2b afrobeat). solid mixdown (at least on my dying shitty headphones). i'm not entirely sure about the sample coming in at around 2:04, idk, not sure it works with the rest, but that's probably down to personal taste

@bud gewitter: bud goes purple? i would have 8/16 bars with just the arps at the beginning to give more impact to the drop. the main snare could have a bit more character, seems a bit generic (its just an amen snare right?)also maybe its my headphones but it seems drowned in the other elements. actually maybe i would try to make the drums a tad louder in general.

deepdubbyman: mixdown sounds noticeably muddier compared to the previous one imo. liking it though. i feel you could go for more "natural" sounding drums, like add shitload of dubby incidentals/fills/etc to underline the roots/dubby feel of the tune? also rimshots!

bongomann: again, sounds a bit muddy (could be just my headphones, i think they're on their last legs). good work on the tribal drums. i think you could go crazier with the techno-ish stabs. Also i feel the brass-like synth could be a bit more interesting texture wise, sounds a bit cheap as it is.

@cyclopian: nice one, liking the atmosphere and sound design, i feel you could make the drums more interesting, maybe add more variations in the hi hats line, break it up at times, add some fills, etc. Aside from that, mixdown sounds on point to me (i might be way off though, listening on headphones)

@nowaysj: that synth at the beginning is lovely. Not sure i like the turn things take once you introduce the breaks. Liking it better when it comes back to 4/4 towards the end. As usual, sounds like 3 good ideas mashed into one confused tune. you get bonus points if thats your daughter on the vocals though

yeah i agree have to tweek the mix and sounds abit but the melodies and shit are ok right cause thats why i wanted to refresh them in the first place :3

mix is fine so far but i think this one clap is too loud compared to the rest of the beat which i actually like kinda in the back here
i think i know this clap sample lol but i cant remember form which pack its a good pack as far as i remember
the rest feels as one piece so def nice love those dif synths layered (all microbrute?)
hm yeah this clap kinda annoys me after a while
besides that really nice sounds
mayve watch this synth at 3.06 tiny bit freqishy maybe bit of eq to make it bit friendlier

i dunno i dont like the bassdrum maybe the reverb of it doesnt sound bad but i feel there is a better one out there somewhere but it sounds better when the rest of the percs drop. like this beat and the melody playful but classy

dig the 1.54 melody too but liked the first one way more if you could layer one like this over the first personally i would like it more like interacting melodies
part after the drop really nice again i think youmight be better of with the 1.54 melody hm hard to tell maybe its jsut not my cup of tea
love the new drums here with the delay hm i think you can raise the volume alot but it sounds nice

honestly if you would drop the vocals it might roll nicer? like a totally cold techno tune like plastikman stuff or some autechre have this same synth style

Dude, everybody is sick on the west coast. My wife just finished antibiotics, my daughter is on antibiotics, and mine haven't arrived from the fish store yet. When I took my daughter to the doctor we had to park two blocks down there were so many people at the doctors, it was insane how many people were there.

I've got family down in LA, and they sound like a freaking TB ward, my sis in law teaches in the LAUSD, so it really might be that drug resistant TB. Lolz.
