Help me get into techno

Hey

I'm in a city where dubstep's in short supply but there's nuff techno nights about.

I know fuck all about techno, don't really even know enough to judge wether I like it or not.

Andy Stott is considered techno right? Passed Me By is a top album.

Actress is techno right? Splazshsz is a big album too.

Joy & Boddika's big tunes like Swims, Mercy etc are massive, are they techno?

bens sims is a bit like the 130 of techno. i can still get down to that shit at a party tho

theres loads of techno so it depends what you like harket. what do you usually find appealing in music? like raw shit, clean shit, fast shit, slow shit, groovy shit, straight shit, spacey shit, trippy shit, dubby shit, noisy shit?

theres pretty much something for everyone just gotta work out what u like innit.

but tbf technos just bangin. go to one of the parties, get some gurners, and just let techno find you

6 to 6 lick (I think that's what it's called) is quite sick
Bohla (probably the tune that got me into that kind of stuff)

Also look into Randomer, and Tessela.

I'm not much into techno tbf, so my selections are probably quite beight.

I've never been to Glasgow, but I'm pretty sure the music at a Headstrong night is as
good as their artwork. That line up promises a lot of breakbeat infused techno too, so you
won't get all 4x4. Won't be like the average techno night, but it'll be good.
Kind of like Surgeon on Rinse.

I love listening to techno, I love raving to techno, but I have a hard time "getting in there" and digging for gold. as with every genre, I want to know its roots and then work myself up from there. however, techno is so varied and has so many facettes (and tons of really shit music gets labeled as techno), it's nigh impossible to jump that train now... at least that's how I feel.
