i'm weird with onions.. sometimes like them, sometimes don't. i quite like red onion now but normal onion has to be bare soft. can't hack it when it's crunchy!!

onion for lunch with yoghurt
onion for tea with yoghurt
then tea with sweets
then more tea
still more tea
then bed.

but serious i like onion but not enough to eat it raw with kebabs anymore, barley touch it in salads, red onion with pomodoro and bufalo mozzarella is the bang bang tho!

Ahhh that poem was by 'Carol Ann Duffy' - found it through a GCSE syllabus actually!

Ha noam I did student exhange years ago and stayed with an Iranian family for a week, man they really knew how to get variety from onions. Was in Sweden though so was a real cool hybrid of the two culture's food styles.... Peng brah!

Also from yooof, how taties, onions n apples can be the saaame (1:40ish)

Interesting though... Like studies on the world's greatest tea/coffee judgers that reveal they have no differing qualities in taste buds, but highly developed senses of smell.

im half as well. loads of onions... and i love em raw... when my pop makes kebabs, he puts a couple onions in a food processor, minces them up, puts the minced onion in a cheese cloth, and squeezes out the juices to marinate the meat in.

caramelised onions 8)

it also makes me laugh when you've just started cooking and someone comes over and says 'THAT SMELLS AMAZING' and it's just onions in a pan.

I just did that too someone today.

Not "AMAZING", but good.

Sautéing onions/garlic/olive does smell borderline amazing.

This is basically why this thread is ridiculous.
