i produce on monitors but sometimes i put on ath-m50s just to hear it differently

i think i should actually be using them more often than the monitors tho

What monitors?

I very well could not be good enough, but when a speaker is weak in a certain range, it is not like it is just quieter there, it is confused there, maybe distortion there. I've only been able to split the difference between various monitoring methods. But I haven't gotten to the point where my mix sounds essentially the same on all playback mechanisms. Pro tracks, they sound essentially the same on everything. Mine, whole synths and shit can practically disappear on certain speakers. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong.

i might have missed your point, but he has an essexy accent, moved to bristol in his twenties i think

and wolf i produce on headphones a lot so i can do it on the sofa haha(my room is arctic)
it slews the ears but i find it easier to hear little changes when working on drums and stuff, so usually write the tune, then switch to speakers to check the overall mix
of course none of this is to a high standard, but i was chatting to a mate and he said facta did all his tunes till fairly recently just on headphones {this was about a year ago}

I once made a tune with ipod earbuds and later tested it on my monitors and it sounded really good lol. It was a pretty simple tune and i just used an 808 kick for the low end so not much bass fiddling, but still lol.
