some PC-pro in here

Post by mIrReN » Tue Dec 09, 2014 8:40 pm

because this is getting frustrating,, 10 minutes ago I checked in here had no problems had a crash twice for idk what reason (didn't mention it just closed) now suddenly everything loads so slow here (especially threads with vids/pics) and it's only video/picture related stuff that get's uber slow like can't type anymore slow. Typing this goes just fine but I've been trying to make 1 sentence in the pissed you off thread for over 10 minutes now so :/
everything goes smooth except for videos/streaming stuff and it's quite weird because I've been streaming stuff everyday and this laptop is quite new so no porn no (yes really, no porn)
is it just my adobe flash player or something else crashed too? Or got overheated because my laptop has been getting a bit warmer lately but nothing like my other laptop (swear I can bake an egg on it),, anybody else having problems just now?

edit; lol nvm just opened it again and had the "adobe flash player crashed" stuff, quite odd tho :s hrm
edit2; fuck this shxt, just updated adobe, doesn't help, can't edit adobe's settings because adobe doesn't show in search
fuck this windows 8 what is this, annoy ppl more, make it more difficult to make them find stuff to adjust to their liking, I'm getting put off more and more ever since windows xp
fck swear I should've hopped on the linux train don't know if it's much better but anythings better than this tripe I'm getting fcking psissssssed

ctrl+alt+delete then go to task manager to check if your browser is using more resources than it should. Sometimes flash will mysteriously suck up a ton of RAM too,

Are you running any plugins/extensions for your browser?

nah man, only adblock, could that be it?

yeah I've been checking cpu usage, firefox is using half of the memory but almost no cpu,,, when I try to connect to youtube CPU shoots up till 16% (total max about 30%) but no sign of adobe starting :s this is really weird, also whenever something involves youtube links etc everything slows down sooo much, can hardly type etc.,,, servise host goes up to 8% from steady 2
3.6/7.9 gb memory use
about a fluctuating 1.8 % ghz

even if you can't help me out, really appreciate it :) I was getting really pissed haha

oh yeah some other more basic plug ins
shockwave flash
Openh264 video codec cisco systems

these are always active

foxit phantompdf
intel identity protection twice
McAfee

these are ask to activate

THX lets hope there aren't too many youtube vids in the end of year thread ^_^

edit; am using noscritp atm, because it helps a lot for opening pages,, it's probably the compatability of the new version with an unupdated firefox (let's hope :s)

should be latest version, it's just quite odd because I don't really know when it updated but I think it's adobe who just auto-updated

Here's how to check if you are updated
click on the icon in the top left with three lines
click on question mark that lights up blue when you hover over it
now click on "about firefox"
...done

34.0

yeah haven't checked ff since their major update a while ago
edit; gonna try this https://support.mozilla.org/bs/questions/1034904
don't know if it will work, let's hope

edit2; seems to have sorted most of it, can play jewtube etc, next to no lag etc,

only thing that's still bothering me is I can't seem to connect to twitch/streaming sites, youtube is great again (can do tabs and everything), adobe still crashes with twitch tho,, with vimeo too appearantly
edit9001; mixcloud too appearantly doesn't work/load

why the fuck didn't I check drivers from the get go :/

First, update your drivers.

Second, try Google Chrome (or just switch permanently, it's a better browser) and see how that handles Flash stuff - it has it's own version of Flash built in, so will likely give a different result to Firefox.

Third, try disabling/enabling hardware acceleration for Flash. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/891337
I had a very similar problem on an old XP machine and that fixed it.

Compared to Windows, some Linux distros are actually very easy to set up. If/when you run in to problems though, troubleshooting can be more difficult.
Check out Ubuntu - it's a really good desktop environment and you can make a bootable USB stick in about 5 minutes.

Good luck

edit: sorry I just realised I told you to update your drivers right after you said "why the fuck didn't I check drivers" - I will learn to read

hehe me and my edits, easy to read over such a thing innit

is it that much better? Because I've just tried IE (omg I know, why do I even...) to test mixcloud/twitch/soundcloud/vimeo and everything works quite smooth over there ...and yeah having some problems with ff and it's updates as of late, kind of annoying

I did the hardware acceleration, tried removing add ons, nothing works as of yet

aaah yeah forgot about ubuntu until 10 minutes ago I found the enable/disable thing on their forums
If I get a desktop I can assure you it won't be windows hahaha

I just really don't get the problem, I've tried this; http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/a ... error-logs
and I get about the same, no real errors or anything, http://i.imgur.com/LOjwAHS.png
edit; imgur is a bit laggy as well

edit2; OMFFG I just forgot to switch from the link shum gave me so jewtube is still going superslow
:corntard:    :middlefinger: :middlefinger: :middlefinger: :middlefinger: :middlefinger: :middlefinger: (not directed at anyone) will try chrome tomorrow,
