Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
I'm guessing most people here don't care which label it came out on long as the release actually comes out and it was Loefahs choice to have 300 pressed and no repress.

Didn't BH say that 300 was loe's decision on their Facebook or somewhere?

According to Berceuse Heroique it was.tha_illsta wrote:The decision to limit the vinyl wasn't up to Loefah.

I wasn't intending to poke fun at anyone.mIrReN wrote: As I said before "just for once can people stop thinking if it's good for me it's good for everybody. The whole I don't have a problem so nobody can have a problem is getting so tedious" in this case you can translate it to I have it so idc about what happens
It's ruining a lot in this world nowadays imho + it's poking fun at a lot of people in this thread who obviously don't have it and most of them won't have it afterwards either.
I've no lack of pity for those that didn't get a copy.
I myself can think of 1000's of records I never got due to unavailability or lack of funds.
As with all rare records where demand outweighs supply, no doubt a bootleg will become available sometime soon if demand remains.

I saw that, but funny how all their releases are limited to 300 copies including mine and I can guarantee it wasn't up to me.garethom wrote:According to Berceuse Heroique it was.tha_illsta wrote:The decision to limit the vinyl wasn't up to Loefah.

Loefah decided to release it on BH, it could have come out on swamp or dmz, so really it's all his decision for there to only be 300.
Anyone seen that gizmo guys facebook as well. Sarcastically keeps saying Bruv as if he's laughing at all us dubstep chavs. Label hasn't won itself any fans they way they've responded.

Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
All I can say is I had a release on that label, and was told they always do a limited run no two ways about it.dsprainman wrote: Thank you. Seriously, much respect due Benny, but how can you not see the problems with this release? People want the ability to support Loefah's decision to release theses long lost dubs by purchasing a physical copy, not a shitty MP3 rip... This isn't the same as the decision not to repress the DMZ back catalog, ASBO001, etc. This is a blatant middle finger to all of us that have waited for years on these tunes.
Even if they'd make the WAV available for purchase, I'd gladly pay for it and cut my own dub.
Which I can say is a worthy ethos in some ways - provided they stick to it, i.e. not cash in and press 5000 of the Loefah one. In which case I'd have rather had the cash for the lost sales on mine!
P.S. Thanks for buying (BH 6.5) FYI: it is remastered and superior to the original pressing

I don't want to appear too fanboy-y, but Benny you produced some of the best tunes in my collection. hats off.

No it couldn't come out on Swamp or DMZ they're groundbreaking brands - there's no precident for releasing 10 year old Loefah dubs on either imprint.LouDub wrote:Loefah decided to release it on BH, it could have come out on swamp or dmz, so really it's all his decision for there to only be 300.

One Loefah release on Swamp was limited to fifty (50:count 'em) so that makes BH look like a free for all.
I know Gizmo, and that's how he talks - you're imagining the sarcasm in that case.

Thanks and yes, I never tire of re-asking the Tempa management for this repress - in person and by correspondance. One day I hope !jrkhnds wrote:I don't want to appear too fanboy-y, but Benny you produced some of the best tunes in my collection. hats off.![]()

Interestingly, BH requested to repress that as well - but we didn't think it right not to be on the original label. Hmmm

Why can't the folks at Tempa just sort it out? Either way, Big ups. Hoping for more material in the future!tha_illsta wrote:Thanks and yes, I never tire of re-asking the Tempa management for this repress - in person and by correspondance. Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
To be fair about the DMZ argument, Mala's Stand Against War/Maintain Through Madness, along with many other releases on the label, came out 6-7 years after their conception. I don't think it would be breaking a precedent.tha_illsta wrote:No it couldn't come out on Swamp or DMZ they're groundbreaking brands - there's no precident for releasing 10 year old Loefah dubs on either imprint.LouDub wrote:Loefah decided to release it on BH, it could have come out on swamp or dmz, so really it's all his decision for there to only be 300.

Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
DMZ releases many-years-old Mala tunes on a regular basis and Swamp 81 releases tech-house. Nothing groundbreaking there. Would have been very easy for him to release it on DMZ and ensure everyone got a copy.
(I never want DMZ to stop releasing old Mala tunes btw)

Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
would be cool to see bh continue putting out releases or reissues of older tunes like this on top of the stuff like beato, vereker, ekman, etc

Ok the first comment is a bit dubious, but what does swamp release then?

Tbf if people are gonna play out rips of this they should just go all out and play the youtube one with Task over the top. "MIX IT DOWN!"
