It's ruining a lot in this world nowadays imho + it's poking fun at a lot of people in this thread who obviously don't have it and most of them won't have it afterwards either.

I've no lack of pity for those that didn't get a copy.

I myself can think of 1000's of records I never got due to unavailability or lack of funds.

As with all rare records where demand outweighs supply, no doubt a bootleg will become available sometime soon if demand remains.

Loefah decided to release it on BH, it could have come out on swamp or dmz, so really it's all his decision for there to only be 300.

Thank you. Seriously, much respect due Benny, but how can you not see the problems with this release? People want the ability to support Loefah's decision to release theses long lost dubs by purchasing a physical copy, not a shitty MP3 rip... This isn't the same as the decision not to repress the DMZ back catalog, ASBO001, etc. This is a blatant middle finger to all of us that have waited for years on these tunes.

Even if they'd make the WAV available for purchase, I'd gladly pay for it and cut my own dub.

All I can say is I had a release on that label, and was told they always do a limited run no two ways about it.
Which I can say is a worthy ethos in some ways - provided they stick to it, i.e. not cash in and press 5000 of the Loefah one. In which case I'd have rather had the cash for the lost sales on mine!

P.S. Thanks for buying (BH 6.5) FYI: it is remastered and superior to the original pressing

No it couldn't come out on Swamp or DMZ they're groundbreaking brands - there's no precident for releasing 10 year old Loefah dubs on either imprint.

One Loefah release on Swamp was limited to fifty (50:count 'em) so that makes BH look like a free for all.

To be fair about the DMZ argument, Mala's Stand Against War/Maintain Through Madness, along with many other releases on the label, came out 6-7 years after their conception. I don't think it would be breaking a precedent.

DMZ releases many-years-old Mala tunes on a regular basis and Swamp 81 releases tech-house. Nothing groundbreaking there. Would have been very easy for him to release it on DMZ and ensure everyone got a copy.

(I never want DMZ to stop releasing old Mala tunes btw)
