I've been on the edge of a migraine since about 2pm yesterday, I've got my work Christmas do tonight and half the team are suggesting *starting* at a strip club.

You don't start at a strip club.

Fucking nerds, man.

DrGatineau wrote:^ i've thought that exact same thing. after a long car ride, when i take my glasses off, my vision seems much worse than it was before putting them on. part of me thinks it's just that your eyes got used to it and now you're adjusting back to not having the lenses, but another part of me wonders if they actually make your eyesight worse because the muscles in your eyes don't have to work as hard or something like that.

sorta like a tolerance.
heres a quick story of mine based around eyesight and healing eyes..

back in 2000 I spent a few months in a young offenders institute. being back in the days were there was no tv's in the cells I got into a heavy regime of reading, literally by the end reading a book a night. I always remember one of the cleaners commenting that id burn out my eyes. also to note - I had had no eye problems previous to this point. so, one day mopping up as my job as hospital orderly I looked at a sign about 15-20 feet away, a yellow 'carefull slippy floor sign' and the word or picture was blurry. this was strange as it was well within a distance I could usually read things. this was a bit concerning, but I considered myself a badass so I carried on. fast foward to 2 years later I am out of prison and have had bad eye sight since untill I became homeless. during this time I had no opportuntiy to read or stair at a tv or computer screen. I was homeless for 18 months and I dont know by what point but my eyesight healed itself so that I was noticing friends from mad far away and people always found it strange when theyd see this tiny figure waving at them and asked how I seen them from so far away.
jump to today, where people are waving at me across the road and I have to wait till theyre crossing to see me till I wave back. thats after years if house living and 14 hour tramadol fuelled reddit and wikipedia binges. part of me is optimistic that a lifestyle change and a rest from the ending stairing at a screen of lights can help improve eyesight, up to what age im not sure.

tldr: my eye sight got better not looking at books n shit and then got worse when I returned to em.

Was smoking a cigarette outside my office; very deep in thought about something and with my headphones on. I turn around to toss my cig and this woman comes around the corner. Startled me so badly I practically jumped; she looked at my like a crazy person. Feels a bit awkward.
