I had a conversation with my Mum when I was about 15 that stuck with me forever along these lines...

Nothing at the moment - rockin' an Oyster card and an envious leer (even toward Micra drivers!). I'm still heartbroken over my Mum selling my Celica when I moved out without asking me - literally rang me up one day, didn't even get through, she just left a message saying "I sold your car, the money's in your account".

Yeah, that's pretty much why I don't... I think I'm just outside the CC zone now, but where I used to live I would've had to pay it even just to go round the corner... plus every time I've tried to drive in London it's taken longer than public transport would've done. I've got a ZipCar membership, so if I need to carry stuff around I can borrow the Golf that's outside my building, but apart from that I'm pretty happy on the Tube.

I miss having a loud noise maker under my right foot and a boot full of speakerboxes though.
