I guess I was suggesting that you can't be a sellout if you've got nothing worthwhile to sell.
which makes me realize why I'll never be a sellout

surely there relative to the culture. teenage boys again I guess, and the girls who want to know how to impress. the more I think about it it seems the music media is tailored for the benefit of teenage boys. you could say teenage girls, but a lot of that is just neurosis inducing 'am I as pretty as her' taunting with a sometimes 'you are beautifull' jaunt from a clearly more beautiful alpha femme.nousd wrote:Ok, then I'll stop making mindless comments too

Back to topic:
Do you reckon all the women who have followed Madonna's lead
say Miley, Mariah, Taylor, of late Ariana, all the pop diva bootie-shakers,
are, by definition, "media sluts"?
I mean, is that an unfair description for women flaunting themselves at every opportunity to make money
or, even if it really is, to express themselves creatively.
I'm in two minds:
one saying that they're entitled to overt but harmless sexual display without being labelled derogatively
and the other
thinking that that's specifically what they are characterizing themselves as.
Maybe we should distinguish between their on-stage & off-stage personnas
and think of the people they are employing, to give them the benefit of the doubt.
On the other hand, a prancing hole, allowing for interpretation of whatever movements it is making, remains a hole.
i.e. I'm entitled to call a spade a spade.
