i think its dope, but i hope its kept to a minimum. techno was my thing before dubstep took me so it definitely strikes hard. left leg out hits deep to me. dubstep needs a step in my mind, but a short change up is super catchy.

Actually, he's right. The powers that be in dubstep have decided to put upon this forum the responsibilities for deciding what is and isn't dubstep. All the stuff that "is" is being put in a large shrine for us to admire, the rest is being dumped in the sea, or burned.

You guys must have missed that meeting right?

Digital Mystikz - Awake [on the Grime 2 compilation from Rephlex] is also 4x4 (and one of my favorite tunes). It's the track I play to relate the music to my friends that love house.

yeah, im not a fan of many grime vocals on record . . . its mad cos grime n dubstep have restored my faith in 4x4 . . . smelly.

d'ya read the pitchfork thing about grime vocals? So on point: MCs are more likely to get a reload for something load and angry "aaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh.... crack your skull!!!" etc... then they are for decent lyrics.

I was REALLY REALLY disappointed with the vocal of duppy. Skepta is, for me, hands down the best MC in grime right now ("draw for the ting in the tescos bag, make yr white t-shirt look like a japanese flag" lol). Probably by a long way. So its a shame that he got all his mates to be on it rather than shower it himself... saying that, wiley's verse is nice...

well . . . I like dem ones, on record grime sounds dead out the box, I agree that u cant go clash or pure 16s all day long & all the gunman lyrics do get long (but u wont see me tryn argue that point wif skepta like)

. . . the challenge imo is fr mcs t translate that pure energy of radio n rave into somthing which isnt purely a violence thing . . . from the footage I've seen eskimo dance looks a lot like a hardcore circle pitt, with pastichd violence replaced wif the threat of real & actual violence . . . there needs t be some sort of midddle ground tho . . .

don't get me wrong, i love those bars too. And yr right, the clashes have so much energy partially because of em. I guess the point is how far the scene can go if the major tunes are full of gunman lyrics...
