Why would that be a waste? The universe is rich as fuck and he is a self proclaimed fan of the franchise - by all accounts it has the potential to be really good. Also yes, that is what he is doing now. They've been in post for a few months now and the film doesn't release until spring next year, which means they have lots of time to get the effects right. A Dawn of the Planet of the Apes-style orc army could be really awesome imo, and they even have Toby Kebbell (Koba in Dawn) playing one of the main orcs.Harkat wrote:Also on an unrelated note: What the hell is Duncan Jones doing now? Moon and Source Code were pretty great, I heard he's making the fucking wolrd of warcraft film. That would be a waste.
On topic, I watched Citizenfour as well, really great - plays out like a geekier Bourne film or something like that, it's pretty insane.
John Wick was a pleasant surprise - my expectations were low even after a lot of people said it was great, but I was thoroughly entertained all the way through. It was almost perfect for what it was.
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
Fantasy shit is just so so boring iMO. I mean, both Moon and Source Code had really cool, interesting scenarios. There's no way he's doing anything like that in a WoW film. It's just be the same old orcs are invading the realm, ancient evil, rogue dude with a dark past and a bow stupid hero and a bad guy who throws snakes or some shit. At best there'll be a "well written character" story or something but who gives a shit, it's a fantasy universe.
Fantasy film battles are also boring as shit to watch compared to gun battles IMO

Hahahaha what? I really liked both Moon and Source Code and I usually prefer sci-fi over fantasy, but:
- the director is good
- supposedly a great FX team
- the source material is good enough (they're basing it on the first Warcraft game and have explicitly said that they won't be "taking sides")
I mean let's give him some credit, hope for the best and not completely write off this movie a year before it's out

Also definitely disagree with blanket statements like thisFantasy film battles are also boring as shit to watch compared to gun battles IMO

Or perhaps a naïve fool, time will tell
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
I'm not sure whether I would try a WoW film and I quite enjoyed Moon and
Source Code as well.
Source Code as well.

Just watched world war Z
I fail to believe that whoever made it decided to make literally everyone in the film stupid as fuck, almost every single death or major event could've been avoided if people literally didn't behave in a spastic way for like a day

Now this I would watch. Just a barrage of awkwardly bad acting with elaborate costumes.hubb wrote:They should cast the best wow gamerz for the roles

oh man, when I was a kid there was an extra dorky kid in my class who played wow. When we'd play like pushing each other off this icey hilltop or something he'd do all these wow "moves" like spinning around with weird dramatic hand motions and going "whoohwww poooshhh" with his mouth

fuck yeah, I am also riding that Hardy dick at the moment. did Bronson, The Drop and started Peaky Blinders recently...still want more
anyone who was a fan of Bronson would enjoy Starred Up. not Hardy but still a really intense prison film. incredible acting, quoting the video that was recommending it 'more than enough realism to make us ask if we were actually watching a documentary'
watched The Babadook too, surprisingly gripping...how much do you guys love aussie accents though. more importantly, saw Birdman and it was a masterpiece, 10/10. Whiplash was also ridiculously good, highly recommend them both.

Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
Tusk, was a like a more light hearted Human Centipede. I won't spoiler, but I feel there was a suspension of disbelief for the last third or so of the movie that I just wasn't getting. Maybe I just am not drunk enough though.
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
Seen loads of movies in the past month, but "Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for the East?" really sticks out in my mind. Cinematography is fantastic.
