It would be worth it. Just to sequence one instrument. I will probably snag one, but I'm def looking forward to the Pro.

I still have questions about the pro. Do your analogs have cv in?

I don't know how much midi sequencing it can do, for the time being, I'm all midi.

I have very few instruments/effects with cv in/out but I can link them with midi with this thing.

My old BassStation rack has been good for handling some of this.

I'm a bit confused by this thing. I understood it better initially, or at least I thought I did.

If I've got two midi synths and a midi drum box, can I sequence them with this thing? I'm thinking now that the answer is no. I can only sequence one midi synth.

^I was pretty sure the beatstep pro would sequence two synths (either CV and MIDI, CV and CV or MIDI and MIDI) and a drum machine (MIDI) simultaneously.

Yeah dude, one midi device.

Just got both my 163x's in. Gotta run a signal through, see how they sound.

Just won an auction on a 3630 that I forgot about. I bid the minimum bid, $30, and won. $16 shipping. :D

I'm not concerned about that. I'm buying it specifically as a midi to cv controller. The only controller I have for that is my BassStation rack.

I will also use it as a midi controller.

Also, I believe it's midi or cv. So it's two maybe three. Not sure about the drum controller, that looks like gates. Also midi via usb to your daw.

Oh, okay, thats what I was asking. Dope sequencer in a mixed studio. But if you've got only midi gear, not so great. What are you going to control via CV?

What about Maschine as your main sequencer for outboard gear, thoughts frag? Anyone else?

I'm going to try a setup with the tenori as master seq. But that things midi timing is LOOSE. At least it starts really late. Was trying to seq from flstudio, and that thing was starting like really really late. Unusably late.

For the kind of music that I sometimes make (Electro Bass), a dedicated hardware step sequencer for both midi and cv will be dope. The cv devices I currently have is limited to a Yamaha CS-5, a Novation BassStation Rack and a Big Briar (Moog) LowPass Filter MoogerFooger. Soon a Korg MS-20mini will be up in the mix.

If I needed more midi tracks and be completely otb, I would dig out my old Alesis MMT-8 or I would acquire a MPC.

Holy shit that is some dinosaur tech. I became familiar with Alesis way back when when I bought an Adat xt, but I don't know the early early history of Alesis. Their offices used to be down the street from me in la.

That was my first sequencer back in the '90's. I sold it, and decided I wanted one again in the 2000's. The midi timing is actually pretty solid. I haven't used it in a long time, but I might again.
