First of all, I absolutely love this song, but am having no luck with replicating the growl. How would you go about making the growl that hits right at the drop, but seems to be automated in throughout the drop? Sounds to me like some sort of fm synthesis with possibly harmor resampling? Sounds a bit too thick to just be FM without much post processing. Any guesses/ideas? Thanks!

Make a nice moving patch in massive with nice modulations.
Bounce down a long note.
Make some filter automation if needed then put into a sampler and play with pitch.
