my pa and grandpa were responsible for the production of anti-mining safety equipment that became the standard and required quality for UN-approved anti-mining schemes worldwide

anti-mining = landmine clearance etc

apparently if you hold down the 'close doors' button as you press your floor in an Otis lift it skips every floor even if someone's called it

never bothered to try it though

i didnt have to google it because i am reminded of this fact repeatedly

if you peeled a human being's skin off in a small thread, it would reach from california, around the world to taiwan.

We experience reality half a second after it occurs. Which means we act half a second before we have decided to do the action and our brains fool us into thinking everthing is nice and sequential. This is observable from brain scans (apparantly, i don't own one) and it freaks the shit out of me

Why, I think it's cool. It could have helped me avoid hitting that old lady the other day, wasn't driving just randomly striking complete strangers
Hmm....

Might not have done it with that broken bottle - still she's past dating age so don't really matter. Might even make her some new friends down the hospital. It's easier to stitch baggy faces anyway although you can go overboard and leave them looking like a cabbage patch doll or Joan Rivers
Hmm....

Well lads
Yeah, came accross that whilst reading some books trying to figure out the BIG PICTURE ye get meh. The great oracle wiki has good info check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will#Neuroscience. One explaination that preserves free will is the brain uses quantum effects where the thought moves half a second backward in time to get over the half second it takes to process reality. Not so unbelievable considering the brain is the most complicated thing that exists

thanks man a thoroughly good read. When I finished I clicked my pen, and then realised that sub conciously I had decided to do that half a second before it was changed into concious desicion. :D
