classical curves is a weird album imo. hated it the first time i checked it out. kinda grew on me tho. really like some its moments but as a whole i don't think it's a great album.
obvs there's musical elements i don't like (a lot of the drums, those 80s sounding synths, main attraktionz vocal) but mostly i think its aesthetic. it just sorta screams snobby fashion student music b2b that all marble everything internet art

Nah i get you dr Gatino

Wasnt saying it was as simple as that, or that what i said explains what is rated or why, just interesting to see another pattern/trend playing itself out in 140

I agree, i dont rate Baby Face, i much prefer say 30,000ft by Truth (to randomly pick a tune drawn from the same time), but its interesting to see the influences of say Spry Sinister already becoming rife, had the aforementioned examples & Mala's sets are full of these deliberately stuttery tunes now.

W/e - you're right, the most interesting producers make stuff that doesn't fit neatly into any of these camps, big up King Commodo etc fwd tbh etc

True, I think we on the same page. And yeah definitely interesting to see the effect gantz has been having on other producers. I haven't heard a mala set since maybe September though.

I hate the term brostep... People who use it regularly are ignorant.

Most people who are fans of modern dubstep are nerds not bros.

brostep isnt a new term. people who are into brostep could have been into it for like 6-7 years now, if not longer

The term brostep came about back when bros WERE listening to dubstep, more precisely a screechy-as-fuck bastard child of dubstep. It was pretty relevant back then albeit pretty pejorative.

Even still... bros only made up a small but visible minority of then Dubstep fans. Most fans back then were nerds.

I (sadly) wasn't there when the dubstep scene started crawling from the depths. But I do remember when people first started talking about it...

Most people thought it was weird and the few people who listened to it were kids who spent their lives playing xbox and talking about world o Warcraft.
