Which member of digital mystikz produced
-Lost City from Dubsession 2004
and Ital from the end of the Digital Mystikz mix on the John Peel's Tribute show - the one with the Sizzla "Solid As A Rock" sample.
I have a feeling they could be Mala dubs, but Coki has produced a few tracks with reggae samples like "dry cry" , "burning" and "i Swear" etc... but the Ital beat sounds similar to Mala's "Justice Day" and "Harvest" tracks, and I'm not entirely sure about the Lost City whether it's a true collab or not.
Cheers and Peace Out ✌

Re: Which member of digital mystikz produced
i always had lost city down in my head as a coki, with that groaning bass, but listening back the percussion and those string stabs sound more mala (like conference type mala tunes i guess)
no idea on ital
no idea on ital

Re: Which member of digital mystikz produced
Lost City is probably Coki-similar bass modulation.
Re: Which member of digital mystikz produced
Lost City could be a collab, remember ages ago in an interview (or maybe Malas RBMA lecture) Mala said they've released a tune or two that have been proper collabs. I think they had one on the big apple release too.
Ital sounds like really early Mala.

I always thought Mawo Dub was the only collab ever released.

Re: Which member of digital mystikz produced
Always assumed lost city was Coki and ital more mala maybe, but this one time I thought I heard an MC saying big up mala on this, but I was probably thinking of something else

Re: Which member of digital mystikz produced
That probably suggests its Mala. It was mainly Mala that sent John Peel dubs and if its only ever appeared on his show, the exclusivity side of things would also point to Mala. Maybe it was a special dub just for John, which sounds like something Mala would have done.

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.

I guess when you cut dubplates owning £100 dmz records seems reasonableRiddles wrote:Lye_Form wrote:was listening to this the other day. Perrrsy, wish i had it

Re: Which member of digital mystikz produced
I definitely could see it being a collab, for me it's always been more of a Coki record though.
