Good or Bad?

Post by dubzy » Wed Oct 24, 2007 12:17 pm

Let me know what you think about this

http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=29538

The question is - What are your opinions about 12-13 year old kids gets involved with Dubstep? Is it good or bad?

My opinion is that it's cool that guys that young actually makes music, tho yet I'm not feeling it.

Actually.. I'm not feeling this at all. 13 is young, prolly these young boys are premature (a bit) but hey... 13!

How could it possibly be bad??? Do think its a bit novelty saying "NU BEAT FROM 14 YEAR OLD" tho. But when i first started i made some of the most experimental and interesting music, more by luck than judgement but perhaps a young mind can bring something new to the table. Skream and Benga were making music at a really young age, perhaps these lot are going to be carrying the torch in a few years :D

I don't think it's that bad, as long as the kids really apprecite the music..I'm only 19, went to my first dnb rave at about 13, was djing and released the first aphex tune at 16 - hence why it was so shit though!

I find this really offending
Is there a rule to dubstep? Is there an age limit to the whole genre? Next theres gonna be a sign on every club in Croydon saying:

Under 18 dubstep followers will be prosecuted.

I've been into Dubstep since I was like 8/9 years old. Guys like Skream and Benga (big ups) made me like music, but you people try and add a tag to the whole bloody thing.

You should be privaleged that you have young followers.
You influenced us, Dubstep
Praise the lord

Razer Wire's track 'Falling in love with a coconut' is excellent, one of the best 320s I've been sent off here.

how can it be bad?

skream and benga were making tunes from this sort of age as well don't forget. plus they had released stuff at the age of 15/16! and that was something as killer as The Judgement.

Don't knock it.

I just wish there was a little less focus on age in all this. It's all about the music right?

People don't go on about Kode 9 and The Bug's music because they are a little older than the majority of the scene now do they?

Theres a guy called R.Dot knocking about somewhere with some baad ass beats - Blizzards are pretty good as well, a lot of it seems to come across a bit Grime.

These names may well be pioneers of the future so I have no issue whatsoever with it - just don't expect me to argue with them =]

Having a proper fucking laugh at some of these arguments you full grown folk are having with Blizzard though

oh and my opinion...

i think it's fucking great that young 'uns are making such quality beats.

Blizzard, ur beats are phenominal for a person ur age, or any age for that matter.

The only thing this shit makes me feel is slightly jealous, i wish i started making beats so young tbh.
