331 seats for a load of bollox is also too much but that's what you got though

Code: Select all

I dont think there's a set on what a load is.

But when someone says: a load of bollox
and they actually mean up to 331, then they are pretty cool imo. Like... thats imaginative! and I think having that in your head and picturing it, is pretty sexy.

I get it works the way it does because you need a representative from each area so in the general election its 'seats' you win and not a whoever gets the most wins sort of deal but that UKIP result does seem unfair.

I'm surprised at how surprised people are by the results. I'll be honest I didn't expect that result but looking at it, its pretty obvious what happened. SNP have taken a huge number of Labour votes while the Tories have taken a huge number of Lib Dem votes. The news seem to think the Tories won so many due to new voters but I think UKIP or Greens would have benefited more from new voters.

Oh well 3 wankers are now out of jobs, one has his for another 5 years.

I'm becoming a little more sympathetic of UKIP because their main idea is something I agree with, controlling our own borders. Its just a shame they had to preface that idea with a bunch of nonsense and borderline racism. The media have been extremely effective in getting people to vote for UKIP but I think thats actually bad for the party, they've gained a lot of people who are basically under the impression if UKIP win they'll kick all the foreigners out. I think a lot of UKIP supporters are more extreme/far right than the actual party itself. Its just a shame they couldn't articulate themselves better from the outset. I guess we have them to thank for Camerons promise to hold a vote on leaving the EU. Every cloud.

I can imagine the majority win will go to the Tories head and they just turn absolutely brutal. Thatchers Britain pt.2, ciao NHS! I predict more looting and police brutality in the next 5 years.. not particularly looking forward to more 19th century economics either.

I think the image UKIP have gained will be hard to shake off; whether they want to or not.

On the bright side a large portion of the Torie voters are elderly (another reason why they did way better than people expected, elderly tend to keep their votes to themselves so don't go anywhere near surveys) and if they wreck the NHS they'll hopefully knock off a large part of their support ready for 2020.

I think some of the more extremist elements in UKIP are BNP members who defected. Stormfront seems to have about 60% of members supporting UKIP, the rest talking about how UKIP are globalist/jews. Even if UKIP got into power, I think that their policies would not be implemented. My reason being that business is more profitable when you have a cheap workforce. Immigrants typically work for dirt, so increasing immigration helps increase profits. The power of money in politics allows for the businesses to get their way.

Look at America, Republicans hate immigration, yet even though they control the house and senate, they aren't doing anything.

UKIP is the only party in British politics that bans anyone who has been a member of an extremist party from joining.

Lol @ everyone complaining about a 'media blackout' on an unplanned protest.

And good effort defacing a war memorial on VE Day. That'll get people on your side

Over reliance on the opinion polls then taking to the streets when it doesn't turn out the way they thought.

Are people going to start protesting Sky Sports when they get match predictions wrong?
