hi im nicole, and i am nobody special
i live just outside of Phila, PA...
i got turned onto dubstep when i heard Youngsta on Kiss FM, then i started browsing the Dubstep Blog for mixes, etc...since then ive been hooked and i am in love. I love all of the different influences in this music and i especially love the way it seems to open me up to my own interpretations of it...nothing is forced on me i can just sit back and let it fill me up or get me bouncing.

Hi evereebody! (Hi Dr Nick!)
I'm Al and 23 from saarrff Laaaandon (Morden to be precise) and now residing in Ealing. Been making beats (DnB, Breaks, Broken beat) on the pc for about 4 years but played drums for about 14and been DJing for a few months now as well. I generally have a lot of time for majority of music except house and that god awful indie rock scene (think strokes).Got into dubstep a few months back when it was introduced to me by my good friend Rusko. This shit has become like crack for me now! Hoping like everyone else to get some choons put out eventually. Respeck to all mans representing the sound, big tings we inna!

Hey dubsteppers
It's Ben here, posting from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Down here living in a botanical garden and studying horticulture. good times.
25 years old, and not spinning as much now that i am back in school. My now lonely crates are filled with old school hip hop, break beats, jungle/dnb, house, "idm", hardcore, techno, music, music music and of course dubsetp. I like to have diversity at hand, it allows for a wide and weird variety of sounds to be created.
Keep on keepin' on.
Peace
B.

Oi oi name's Joe, 25, i'm a dancer/choreographer interested in fusing live dance performance with live audiovisuals. I've always liked the darker side of electronic music (loads of other stuff too)... used to listen to oldskoolhardcore/techno/electro when i was in secondary school, got into jungle when the sounds first emerged, proceeded to get sucked in by the dnb/breaks/techno rave scenes for a few years... got into dubstep through electro/breaks nights... and seeing vex'd live convinced me it was what i wanted to make... i'm (hopefully) starting a production course in sept after messin about on reason at a mate's house got the bug. i plan to start making then hopefully releasing tunes of the dubstep/electrobreaks/dnb/minimal/electronica types as soon as i can get on the equipment! I should probably finally learn to mix aswell...
All about the dark, percussive, wobbling techy atmospheres... safe people...

Michael here,
grew up on the south side of Chicago, "SOUTH SI-EEEEED!!!!"
started listening to underground house in the mid-80's and was one of the few white-boys at the local "Godfather of House" parties with DJ's like Ron Carroll, Frankie Knuckles, Terry Hunter.... Jackin' all night long
Plus every weekend night, a radio station called WBMX played the HOT MIX 5 - I was poppin my cassette in the recorder and taping every show

Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Mickey "Mixin" Oliver, Scott "Smokin" Silz, Ralphi Rosario and Kenny "Jammin" Jason.... then later on came Mario "Smokin" Diaz, Mario Reyes, Mike "Hitman" Wilson, Fast Eddie and Bad Boy Bill
I listened to a lot of Reagae and Dub during that time as well because House Music was considered too 'Black', and my asshole friends weren't into it...
... but they'd listen to Bob Marley???? I loved Dub Reagae and played it all the time...
Chicago's jungle scene hit the clubs early and stayed strong since back in the mid-90's... that's where I felt the bass... and got the itch!
I jumped on the UK Gare-age scene that lasted for half-a-minute here...
Been in search for the deep chest bass I've been hearing about and now all I need is a proper system to plow through my chest every weekend!!!

speaking of chest-rattling bass...
richard d james live pa at roseland ballroom for cmj fest '98 (i think it was '98)
-- as i stood in the 'sweet spot' a good distance away from the main stacks and dead-center, i had trouble breathing and by the time 'bucephalous bouncing ball' was over, my leg hair was standing on end and the skin was beet-red. no joke!
