youre an embarassment. dont make judgements like that. and berzerk?...right. the people you are bashing were going berzerk buddy...there was no MOSHING...it was jumping up and down and in a little circle...hands up and pointing around...screaming...laughing...and thats about it. if that is so wrong to do...then maybe you should try a genre of music like say....classical. cause that is a typical way to express yourself when listening to most kinds of music you really enjoy.Overcast Radio wrote:I agree with Black Plague...I wanted to mention something about that night too (Vex'd)...it was a total turn off. It was as if a bunch of underaged fratboys were there...and to be precise, it wasn't even a...hardcore physical expression of joy to music...like "real" moshing. This was a few young guys that, even if this WAS OK behavior, sucked at it. Just pushing each other like a bunch of repressed jocks...it really bummed me out for a minute there. It was an embarassment. Granted, I get berzerk at Dub War, but if I step on someone or whatever, I'm truly sorry. I think those guys were NYU freshmen who just had no idea where they were and what they were doing! I hope the DJ's just start powering down and the MC's shame whoever's acting like and idiot at shows! I cannot reiterate enough how on this night, it wasn't an expression of dancing...it was stupidity, even if you were seeing Alice In Chains in 1994.
seriously...an embarassment?

craziness.

why the hell would you want to jump up and down in a little circle pointing around and screamingperkalerk215 wrote:youre an embarassment. dont make judgements like that. and berzerk?...right. the people you are bashing were going berzerk buddy...there was no MOSHING...it was jumping up and down and in a little circle...hands up and pointing around...screaming...laughing...and thats about it. if that is so wrong to do...then maybe you should try a genre of music like say....classical. cause that is a typical way to express yourself when listening to most kinds of music you really enjoy.Overcast Radio wrote:I agree with Black Plague...I wanted to mention something about that night too (Vex'd)...it was a total turn off. Within reason, yes. You don't get many people just standing around on a 'regular' dance floor. People generally know where to stand. It's an unspoken social behaviour rule. People generally stand around the perimeter, unless they're desperately trying to be a pain in the arse and insist on standing in the middle of the dancefloor. I certainly don't want to be stumbling over some drug-addled stoners vomiting their eyeballs out their arse whilst I'm bouncing.guerillaeye wrote:and people should be able to choose where to stand.two oh one wrote: People should have a choice if they want to enter or not.

It's down to common sense, surely?

word.. but if i happen to be standing by the dj booth drifting on a bass line, eyes closed and feeling the vibe, the last thing i want is someone knocking into me during meditation.
i have no issues with people doing what they do.. do as thou wilt, no? i just dont like needing to find a different place to stand, away from the place of my choosing because i choose not to participate.

Getting into an absolute frenzy can be amazing, the adrenaline rush is nuts!pk- wrote:that looks like worst possible way to spend an eveningperkalerk215 wrote:i miss shows a lot...was pure chaos. oldschool hardcore. amazing.Mohan wrote:about 1:20 in

oh but you have the choice. front and center tends to be where the spontaneous moshing errupts. if you hate the pit and the mood for the night seems to be calling for it, stay out of that zone and you should be fine.guerillaeye wrote:and people should be able to choose where to stand.two oh one wrote: People should have a choice if they want to enter or not.
all the people against moshing or people showing their enthusiasm/dancing the way they want (to an extent, naturally) have probably never thrown a party or dj'd for a crowd that went apeshit.

Its called a dancefloor for a reason, fine if ya wanna stand front n centre (thats your choice as you say) but you can't expect not to get hit by traffic if ya stand in a motorway.guerillaeye wrote:and people should be able to choose where to stand.two oh one wrote: People should have a choice if they want to enter or not.
There needs to be more dancing/skanking call it what you will of all kinds at dubstep raves imo. Express yer love for the music!
I ain't really into moshing myself, but sometimes the music just takes ya and the hard skank becomes a bounce around for a bit. As long as you try not to annoy others and apologise if ya do, whats the problem?
Moshing and dubstep?
Though what anyone might do at a dubstep rave could possibly be misconceived to be like 'moshing' it most definitely is NOT the same thing, AT ALL.
Nothing wrong with brocking out and enjoying the music, as we all should know its about expressing yourself. As long as what you're doing doesn't disrupt other people.. no problem.

I don't see the problem as long as people maintain the traditional "mosh" ethics, like apologising to folks who get knocked down and helping people up/making sure they're cool.
