i dont get the discussion personally

i do i suppose tend to see the positive elements of all music i hear

it has to really really turn me off to make me want to comment

the bouncy fun wobblers that have been mentioned i can see the greatness in

for example someone mentioned flap jack...i fucking love that tune

i also however love shackleton hypno angel & sound proof productions marv as well as of course burial & boxcutter

i think a lot of the time people feel the music they listen to has to define them in their entirety but i just dont get this

i just like music and dont consider me ranting on a forum that important to the future development of the scene.....i like folk for example but i dont go to a show and moan it has no bassline (although tunng do!)

and likewise if its a minimal bouncy wobble monster im not gonna miss elements that havent been covered in that piece of music

listen to a wider selection of genres is my advice

tbh if i just listened to just dubstep i probably would get bored or any other genre for that matter...but as i listen to all sorts i can appreciate the qualities separately within each track...but then were all different i guess

have any of you guys being critical thought of making the tunes you want to hear instead of waiting for the producers releasing records to do it?

but i do think debate is healthy of course...just it needs to have a point to it....id say 9 times out of 10 on forums its just someone trying to be cool by going against the grain..i suppose this is what drives scenes tho:(

but i have to say im well at home with wobblers & scientific interesting bass like distance et all

just as long as we dont get a dubstep version of pendulum!

Yes. Snipers should be employed round the pool in case rogue swimmers start doing freestyle improv though.

there is plenty of decent/negativity that goes on behind the scenes , and the majority of it is directed at this forum .

People like to complain. It's the nature of the beast etc. But honestly life is too short. Take a look outside your own little scene, think about where it all fits in in the grander scheme of things, realise that scoring points on a forum or "behind the scenes" means fuck all three months hence. "It was better in the old days" "no it's better now" "harder music is better" "no spaced out music is better" "I don't like DJ X's haircut" "I think it's sexy" GET. A. GRIP.

Every last one of these discussions has been had in six dozen scenes before dubstep was a glint in Todd Edwards's eye, and they'll be had in dozens more til the human race finally fucks itself into oblivion. They come from ego wanking and they go nowhere, and they mean nothing. It's a beautiful sunny day in London, unplug your internet connection and get outside!

Also, it's true, there are only two types of music.

COUNTRY

and

WESTERN.
