nice one bread!?
Yeah were going to play on the system upstairs which is really good for dubstep (cheap plug)! can't afford to get a system in (not feasible) but the night will be loud and bassy! Got plans for a warehouse in december which will have a bigger better system at it... theres also be a chillout dj downstairs not sure exactly what he will be playing...
Nice one for offering to spread the word....
the reason nights are going generic are in my opinion because not enough people are working together to create a bit of a music scene anyway enough of this rant....
All the best

Hey how you doing
I live in brum and was thinking there was nothing n the line of dubstep really going on, compared to what the 'second main city' of england should do.
I have some mates who put ona night called bigger than barry
its a fun night and gets a good crowd
my mate said if they get a new venue for it, there might be a backroom and i was thinking fo doing a side dubstep room
hit me up about any other events or ideas man.

I think Brum is crap and I am there often, and lived under it for years, as it was the nearest city (stratford upon avon) and it being "the place we went at weekends" to go record shopping as teenagers
still think its crap in general, been totally raped by globalisation, exploded in the industrial age, dying out by the modern age, and now its being turned into one big shop
I think its a shame, but I live in Notts and it's way better here.
An example is never ever going to a gig in Brum and enjoying it, even if I am seeing a band I like, or playing.
Respect to people setting stuff up though! thats what it's all about, Im not having a whinge, but this thread is a result of nothing going on obviously!

Depends on how culturally narrow minded you are...there may be little dubstep in Brum, but hey, there is culture beyond dubstep you know.Joe C wrote:I think Brum is crap and I am there often, and lived under it for years, as it was the nearest city (stratford upon avon) and it being "the place we went at weekends" to go record shopping as teenagers

you could have fun in a shanty town if you like playing with bricks..
plus your comment claiming I was basing culture on dubstep is waste, come on dude like I said, I know brum, I just dont like it.

Look, it's no prob, but it's my home town, I get defensive! I know you didn't post it, but my point is, Brum ain't a "cultural vacuum", that is all.Joe C wrote:mate did I say that in the slightest?XOR wrote:Depends on how culturally narrow minded you are...there may be little dubstep in Brum, but hey, there is culture beyond dubstep you know.Joe C wrote:I think Brum is crap and I am there often, and lived under it for years, as it was the nearest city (stratford upon avon) and it being "the place we went at weekends" to go record shopping as teenagers
