some people have been slagging off the vocal treatments on the album, but to me, they are some of the best bits. Loving Burial's sense of space with the drums (one of the most distinctive sounds around), and all in all this is an album that crosses over, so can sit comfortably in a Kode9 mix, and in the CD players of people who are unaware of the phenomenon of Dubstep, which is great, its all about getting the music out there to as many people as possible.

Wonder where he'll go next?

very true, I've pushed this album to a number of people, dnb heads, people not into dubstep at all, old garage fans, indie kids and they've all loved it and gone out to get it.

I'm actually really feeling the vocal bits with the exception of etched headplate.. the album is still on heavy rotation at my house

"dipshits on the dubstepforum are deleting comments from people who know the samples. i've been on that forum for a while now and i have to say it's the most idiotic bunch of knuckleheads i've ever mingled with. everything is LARGE or HUGE of SAFE. it's ok for Burial to steal samples without clearing but it's not ok for me to download the Burial remix of Bloc Party?"

is that really happening? fucked up if so.

as for whether the source is good or not, isn't that utterly irrelevant? it's how the sample gets flipped.

I saw your comment on ILX bld. People feel protective of this scene and while it might not be difficult to find out where some samples are from, it would be disloyal for this particular forum to be the place where that information is made public. Would you dob a member of your family in for not having a TV license or car tax?

Also downloading a song is not really directly comparable to making a new piece of music out of a sample is it?

when i first heard the album, i was disappointed. then i listened again, and i fell in love. gotta admit it, hes such a good producer, hes making tracks i dont even know i love until it's too late.

fucking badman. I just hope, if burial is a myth, that kode 9 never decides to kill him off.

yeah, i've got a friend who swears Kode9 and Burial are the same person. can anybody prove 100% that this isn't true?

i've been skeptical that Kode9 and Burial are the same person but i can't come up with a better alternative.
