Yeah it's good. You'd never know it was translated from Japanese from the quality of the localization, and the art style and soundtrack are very Vagrant Story. Which to be fair could be a bad thing to some people, as it's not Final Fantasy. The battle system as well has more in common with Vagrant Story.
It'll keep you occupied for more than a month though. Definitely worth the almost five year wait since a proper (offline, original) Final Fantasy title.
And if you want to throw your life away further, the new Zelda for the Gamecube/Wii is a fine waste of time.

None really, gameplay wise it most compares to Vagrant Story. There's a few elements of the setting which were introduced in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. And yes there are plenty of sidequests and optional bosses.*Grand* wrote:what final fantasy does it most compare to..
BTW pretty early on in the game you visit a nomad village with dark crystals nearby. Gave me a giggle.
I sweat Square-Enix titles hard and I couldn't get into X-2.
Vagrant story i have to say along with FF7 are the best games square soft ever released.. i was loving vagrant story twisted story and dark atmosphere.. its playability was pretty good....i some what regret my nephew breaking the disc afteri completed it and was trying to do it 100% since on the first time round u cant acces certain areas due to the fact u need that sigil which was cut of that guys back...
spectacular game would love to see a revival on the psp to be honest.

ok finished dissertation, shitty weather so went and bought it.
already stuck... grand or anyone else help needed please
very early in but not right at the beginning. i am in rabanstre and just gone to kill my first mark the tomato. done that, killed a few more wolves for xp, now trying to get back in the city and guards say the gates are shut. what do i do?
also, last ff i played was X, when it was turned based. not sure about this new combat system. does it make a difference how far away i am from my target? will i incur less damage but also cause less damage it i stand furhter away or run around or does it not make a difference?

Hmm sounds interesting Vagrant Story is probably my second favorite RPG game on the PS, was amazing and pushed levels.
Obviously the best RPG(s) on PS was Suikoden one and two.. (well in my opinion).
Might pick it up if its cheap to have a go haven't sat down and played a RPG since... PS2 first came out haha.

They've done two for the GBA now, and they re-released the original Tactics for the PSP with an updated translation, more character classes, and a few other bells and whistles.stanton wrote:I loved final fantasy tictacs, played it on the PS, did they ever do another one?
(Also LOL at it being a year later and I still haven't finished FFXII.)
