Yeah how well organised was that? Such a good night, I can't wait til they do another one.

I reckon its really about the smaller nights (apart from DMZ) anyway, they retain the old vibe.

Friday night madness

Post by daforce » Sat Nov 24, 2007 3:06 pm

What a joke, If you did'nt buy a ticket from Plasticpeople.co.uk, you were screwed basically, so wishing I had. I drove 100miles got to plastic at 9.55 qued with da mob, got hussled to the other venue at 11pm, Qued for 2.5 hours in the Cash payers Que. At 2pm I gave up and went home. as I could not face it for only 1 hours worth. Not the best night I have ever had, it is the most I have ever que'd ever in 15 years clubbing, but well done FWD for getting everyone in, eventually!!!

FWD>> used to be on Thurs night and not fully rammed, have'nt been for a couple of years, as I work away loads, whats it like now its moved to Fri??

I thought it was finished by then mate?

by the look of things even ppl with tickets got fucked around as well. I'm glad i didnt buy one coz that would of been ten pound wasted on at most 2 hours of actually been in there.

Well I guess I was one of the lucky ones to make it in early..

All the sets were good all around, the systems weighty - felt like 2 plastic people systems in each room almost.

Was really nice to chill and have some zoots with the people who DID actually make it inside, and kinda retarded that in the back room the place wasn't even that full considering how many people were waiting outside.

So overall I guess for those who actually were lucky enough to get in it was a good party - but still what's a good party if most of the people you came to meet up with aren't even there?

And closing at 3am... people were not too happy about that, but I'm assuming it's an arrangement they had made with the warehouse and/or the police.

Had the potential to be a GREAT party, but these things are very very difficult to make sure they run smoothly I guess.... honestly even with all the people wanting to get in, they wouldnt have all fit. It was a "warehouse" but not THAT big.

Out to Scientist, Mr Cazual & Lady Charles, Distance, and Ashley, guess those were the only people I actually saw :(

for anyone that paid and didn't get in, email plastic people

I just got this response - "ok will check with the forward people and send a refund if not signed in check it on monady when i am in the office"

so that's something at least.

I should've gone dirty canvas really but I was in an absolutely filthy mood. Big up boomnoise, hopper, logos, whistla, dee bee one and everyone else who had the same troubles. Big up the public school pricks on the bus home making me ashamed to come from west.

I genuinely think Plastic People are more to blame than FWD>>.. I can't imagine the Ammo gang are happy about any of this either. I mean, promoters don't arrange door staff normally do they, that must've been Plastic Peoples fault, and if they'd got that right pretty much everything would've been ok... wouldn't have been any negative vibes if all the people that paid had gotten in, and if there hadn't been any drama in the queue.

I still don't like the aggressively trendy marketing of a 'secret warehouse party', but I think if PP had done their job properly it would've been a good night.

i'm pretty sure it was that carpark, there was a fuck off huge jeep in there and some bicycles, i really wanted to hotbox the jeep....

yeah there were a few typical shoreditch types around, bit of a longting but for me at least i ain't got a problem with them as long as they ain't bringing bad vibes, its not like you gotta chat to them just cos they're there

what a strange twist of events.
i was all geared up for this, but then i missed my last train to ldn..ended up going detonate instead, which incidentally was sik.
sounds like i may have wasted £15 on a train ticket but saved a lot more on agro and strife considering i'd of properly reached about midnight with no ticket (*shock horror*) get boyed and end up pissed off.
i feel sorry for everyone though..this really did have the potential to be a great night.

maybe us forum heads should just get the same place out, and run the exact same line up and stuff, but this time have more alcohol, make it cheap, have a decent queue system and don't just allow but encourage smoking

Queued for two hours with a bunch of people gettin pissed because of crazy line jumpers and being pushed from all sides. People queuing up in the street too, they're lucky there wasn't any horrible accidents. At anyrate, I made it in partway through Distance's set, caught Kode 9's set. Then they closed at 3!!! All that for an hour and a half's worth of music. What a fucking joke. Even if the security were not up to scratch, the promoter should have been outside sorting that shit out. It's their name on the party.

Warehouse of shame

Post by daforce » Sat Nov 24, 2007 5:14 pm

Shame it went like that last night, soundz like there were alot sliker nightz elsewhere reading the replies.

I think it comes down to poor management and not enough people on the ground to sort it out, eventually they did get 2 doors open, but security were checking tickets, not doing security, get the promoters to check tickets in future, everyone has a job to do.

Does anyone know where else run Dubstep nightz outside london, I'm thinking of starting something nearer me, a) so I can get in, b) to mix it up with the dubstepz leaders c) to spread the vibes outside the home turf. I have scouted one venue for 500 but only able to give me sun-weds, so still searchin.

After last night shambles I would not like a repeat of it ever.

best thing about FWD>> is still the DJ's and the system, its huge!

Would any south london or rinse DJ's make it up to Coventry for a night?
