Would any south london or rinse DJ's make it up to Coventry for a night?
Mate, check the Events thread...there's LOADS of stuff happening outside of London. The Midlands scene is strong...good nights in Notts (too many for me to make it to all of them), Leicester, Birmingham, etc, etc...all over the shop.

Skream was in Notts last night.

You'd have no probs getting hold of djs for a night. There's nights happening in Liverpool, Sheffield, Newcastle...so getting them up to Cov wouldn't be an issue.

came 2 hours on the train aswell and spent all my money. Now i'm makin a weekend of it and goin to box of dub night. should be big one.

On the FWD> front...sounds like a very bad set-up. I got a pretty scathing report from som of the Notts crew that made the trip down for it.

I was quite close to going down at the last minute...glad I didn't and stuck with Detonate now!

With it finishing early etc, did everyone on the line-up play?

the waiting in the freezing cold almost killed me... and then to add insult to injury the pushing in the queue really killed it. I remember at one point been pinned acgainst the wall by the door and not being able to move... was a joke tbh.

They really needed some barriers up (look at The End for a prime example PP) where people can actually tell whats going on.

Well done the dickhead that decided to throw a beer at Zinc when he was looking out the window... almost took me out aswell.. :? It's understandable that people were frustrated but that really wasn't necessary. Just gald I bought a ticket - really felt sorry for the matey at the front with us who was really pissed off and left his mates with his credit card after 2 hours of waiting .. he really wasn't happy. Hope you get your money back fella...

Needless to say after getting in and queuing for drinks tokens and queueing for a drink and queuing for piss I had a really good night. Soundsystem was on fire, venue was large despite the horrible fact Room 2 wasnt closed off. It was jahing hearing Room 1 going off whilst trying to listen to beats in there. SP:MC was quite good rollin over Youngsta (I think it was anyway)...but it really felt odd there were no other hosts for the night., not that I'm complaining.

Shame it finished at 3 as opposed to 4... and what was with the lights going on and off the floor above the main dance...

Brilliant.

However, it's not exactly the same FWD, so why would you say something like that?

Can't remember tbh, may have been Mala/Benga or Kode 9.

It's got the same bass stabs and some "Terrorist" samples thrown in.

Shambles. Was no way worth goin to after all the palava outside. No que, Just a door and 300 ppl tryna get thro it in all directions.

I'm glad i wasn't expecting much from the night and don't live far coz i wuda been very dissapointed.

It was the birthday event.

It seems to me like, They knew it wud be a road block, so didn't bother sorting it out properly, Didn't bother making sure people cud get in properly coz they knew don't matter ow much ppl get pushed and pissed off they still get there money in the end of the day, so fuck em.

And locked it off early to make it worse.

Basically,

The hunger has gone. FWD>> ain't tryna please to dubstep listeners. Cos they know no matter how shabby the night is, it will always be a roadblock, hence them making their money.

So yeah seems like the love for the sound has partly gone, all about the money init. But that happens to everything that gets big eventually don't it.

The tune 'Big Headed Slags' come to mind.

I don't remember what time i got in, i heard the benga and mala set which was good, That all i saw.

Its mad how the FWD>> nite gave birth to dubstep is being second choice to nights that came years after.

But thats how it goes......

Where the fuck are you people trying to take this argument?

FWD ain't trying to please dubstep listeners? Who is it trying to please then?

Seriously, FWD is one of the few raves that is consistently good. How many other weekly raves are you gonna go to that are as good as FWD? 52 nights a year they run the dance, and they're working around the schedules of DJs who are playing internationally now. Don't try and drag down the entire night just because of one swag night.

Bare posers on here I swear. Are you lot fans of the music or fans of being seen in the queue on a Friday on Curtain Road?

i dont understand where your coming from.

the night was a shambles and people are frustrated and angry. they got a right to be.

did u actually reach and see how disorganised it was? or are you just jumping to the conclusion that people just dont know what theyre chattin about?

By all means, say you had a bad night. But don't try and blame that bad night on the sudden selling out of the FWD>> brand. I'm not saying people don't know what they're talking about, I'm saying that they're trying to the fact that the night flopped as a springboard for their hangups about wobble, commercialisation and corruption.

It's a fucking dubstep night, stop crying.

To be honest they are two distinct entities FWD every Friday, is sick pretty much without expception. This was a one off night that was promoted as a "warehouse party" which they fucked up for a lot of people.

However I was one of the very lucky people who had tickets and got near the front of the right queue. I really enjoyed the night and I thought the venue was absolutely sick, I would love to see another night in there, with proper organisation.

Major gripe for me was the lack of a cloakroom on a freezing as fuck night meant I was holding a massive jacket all fucking night, which reduced my skank out capacity. Also strobe lights at dubstep should be banned. These complaints are of course minor compared to what a lot of people experienced so I feel for you guys.

Out to stanton raging in the queue and dubluke snoozing on some car ;)

Oh and finally finishing at 3am what a pile of WANK

lol bruv FWD was getting well shit b4 the smoke ban, this was fwd's chance to show me they are actually clued up and running a party for the punters not for the benefit of the takings. This however was not the case

dont think that this one night has made me decide that fwd aint worth the entrance fee, many many other things plus this have made it so ;)

met one couple who said theyd bought tickets, brought the card with them, but the man at the door was asking for a printout, which the website didnt tell them anything about...hope they get their money back
