yes I use Torq without any issues, but it has its detractors

vinyl is only 33 rpm, sometimes it can be buggy for people, etc...

just follow the directions when you install and remember to use a usb 1.1 port and you should be fine, provided your system is up to spec.

yeah it seems to run fine on my par PC still. I installed + worked it all out pretty easily but reckon if you have lack of knowledge it could be a bugger - just about to load up the VSTs i wanna put in the effects channels!

yeah 33 is a throb - kinda wish i knew about that but i'm skilled pon decks still - and you can turn your dubstep into DnB by pressing 45rpm button haha

there's dubstep type people on here who are just as bad. hard house is worse than dnb for stnuc anyway...

m-audio torq is definately going to be my next gear purchase. i feel that 320s and timecoded vinyl are the way forward for mixing modern music. £19 for three dubstep 12"s takes the piss, i know artists need paying for their work but i bet they're lucky if they get 50p for each vinyl and the rest goes to actually manufacturing the slab of wax. only vinyl i want to collect loads of is dub and reggae because it would feel wrong playing such music from a laptop. once i get torq when it comes to any electronic music im just gonna buy 320s...makes sense really

Ive had torq for 2 months now and after our last gig (last night) im sending the fuckin piece of shit back. im a computer technician so i know what im doing in respect to installation and spec, and let me tell you i have never come across more buggy software and drivers. it would be fine for an hour or so and always fine at home practicing but after a while when im out playing it would start fucking up like playin tunes backwards, skipping jumping etc etc etc. new control records cost me 30euro each (Ireland) bullshit!! if you change a needle it freaks out if you plug something else in on the same adapter it fucks up if you plug in your laptop charger it crashes. m-audios beta testing program stars soon and i enroled and passed the entrance exam, but they can shuv it up their holes !!! dont buy this product its not reliable.

vinyl all the way with my money when i get it refunded its expensive buy it worx and you can rely on it!!!

hate to bust ya bubble but a lot of the time the artist will see a lot more than 50p per sale...in fact a lot of the time the artist wont see anything from sales as they have been paid up front.

ok my head has cooled down alot since my last post giving out shit about the product. ive decided to give it another go but to clean out my technics and buy w brand new stylus'. i think the bullshit last week was a sign for me to get off my arse and buy some vinyl seen as i dont own any dubstep (on wax)

At the moment I am sitting in front of my Mac, trying to wipe up the drool long enough to make a nice, wobbly bassline.

I'll take that as gold, so now I have 2: a roland sampler (555) and the SH-32 synth. Both showed up as gifts recently. Go figure.

I'm still fumbling around on this forum, but couldn't resist the post about Torq.

After all, Traktor Scratch has the Allen & Heath Zone 96 filters inside the app, not to mention built-in recording capabilities and a sound card that doubles as a MIDI interface and can be a stand-alone unit.

Oh yeah, and it's capable of outputting in 5.1 surround sound. Live.

...and each time the needle touches the record over 2x the info is transmitted via USB 2.0 to your computer. No contest.

I'm done with my TS advertisement, but it really is top notch.

Anyways, I finally shopped around for some dubstep and I liiiiike it. Grabbed a couple hundred tracks in the past month... I'm an addict.

I think i'm hooked. Now if you'd list your MP3s on eMusic or BeatPort I'd be thrilled...

I have much to learn, and more gear than I ever needed to get the job done... Now to take advantage of Winter Break and play around already!

Ur gonna miss the show tomorrow night in STL. Droppin some dub at Urban, complete with the sampler over the top. It's gonna be nice man.

conectiv is also compatible with traktor scratch, which means you just need to get a pair of traktor control vinyls and the not-so-cheap traktor scratch software (but there are for sure cheaper ways to get that) if you're unhappy with torq. at least that's written in the pdf document on the installation cd but i haven't tried that yet.

anyways so far i've tried torq only at home but it's endless fun and everything works well except the integrated record function which always delivers a 44 byte WAV file. but it works when you record straight out of the mixing desk to your other soundcard.
