C'mon - the first Korn album was pretty good. Sure, everything they did after that got worse and worse until they came a bizarre parody of what they once were, but that first album was heavy.

The heaviest thing I listen to these days is Tool really. But when I was
like 8 years old I used to love a bit of Napalm Death and whatnot, and
have to admit - I do still pull for the real heavy stuff from time to time!!

Wouldn't call myself a fan, but I sure do listen to a fair bit of black'n'death.
cool

Hmm... so you consider at least a third of all metal to be waste because you can find pics of poser idiots?

That is some truly astonishing logic you have there.
98% of any genre is shit.

the beauty is that the more you get into it, the larger the 2% comes.

i´ve had my fair share of metal growing up, mostly death and trash.
they are still the ones that move me. sepultura, S.O.D, death, slayer...
the classics.

and of course Black Sabbath and Pentagram.

so you think bands like repulsion and terrorizer (who incidentally was 50% morbid angel) were great but all death metal is shit...what about autopsy? and the aforementioned morbid angel...and at the gates.Im no fan of dm nowadays but these bands were shit hot.

And in bm theres also good stuff..Burzum,Thorns,Dodheimsgard.....although theres an unreasonable amount of shite and the politics / fan base is lol.

Just coz it doesnt fit with your tastes isnt a reason to write off entire genres.

For me Meshuggah,Unsane,Fudge Tunnel, early Today is the Day,Godflesh/Jesu , Khanate ,Carcass , Autopsy and a load of others.

the comment wasn't entirely serious. although in reality i can't think of any bm/dm band that i enjoy.

musically, lyrically and artistically void. just an opinion of course.

If you listen to any death metal band, please let it be 'Psycroptic'

awesome tech death band from tasmania... Also crazy arse lyrics which are pretty impossible to understand but a good read.

Ok, the album to get is "Psycroptic - Scepter Of The Ancients" definately converted me to the more extreme side of metal

Psycroptic - Lacertine Forest:

In this world there's an unknown forest

deep within parts not explored - yet.

A corner of earth that's a mystery,

though only to our human race.

A residence, of an ancient clan

that have lived here for generations, and have survived -

by remaining in this place of seclusive presidence.

A forest - an extensive population

Of lizards - various breeds

Most un-named, some with almost human features

Most half breeds.

Some you'll find can even fly, their species is growing larger

All are born, within the trees, and their skin is rough like

Scaled.......Bark.....

They are born with just a mother, from a spawn taken from the tree

It is secreted on her skin, within days a child is within.

Only six weeks and the child is born - a male but no genitals

There are no need for these as all are fathered by the trees.

This is a race on a steady decrease, an unknown foe called 'humans'

Deadly pollution, drifting across, ocean to their land

Causing - drought, killing the trees

Taking their life source, causing distress, elders call council

Much discussion, form strategy

Then after much careful planning, decides

To send a troop of flying lizards, a-broad

Their mission is to discover

What it is that is destroying

Their fragile eco-system

And to try make things right.

We are a race from an ancient source

that have lived here for generations

And have destroyed- a multitude of things in

our time of residence, we must now face our destruction

by a division of lacertilians,

Their bodies are more resistant to our

weapons (than) anything we can create.

We are now doomed to extinction

And, we surely deserve it.

Deluded arrogance, Mistreatment, of our worl

Will lead to certain death,

Please forgive - our human race.

Hasn't this race of lizardmen already infiltrated the US government and are running the world?
