Once again thanks for this marvellous article Martin, reading it for the 2nd time.
Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming:
Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?

really good read. the bit at the end about 'the scene' was particularly interesting given the amount of discussions/rants there've been on here recently

nice on Martin, whilst on one hand I expect nothing less from you, it's good to see you have the conviction to stand up and criticise - you have a wider platform than most to pontificate and by doing so you can help guide the scene more with words than anyone else.

What you've said in the last few paragraphs is important, and much needed.

Just read it, agree with pretty much everything said in it. Especially the last part, although to be honest I don't really see how the slide into comemercialism can be stopped now.

Thinking of moving to Bristol next year too

I haven't actually been there yet lol but I've heard good things and obviously its a bit of a dubstep hub without all the cost/hassle of London... correct me if I'm wrong though.

I've gone off cider but I can get back on it if need be.

to be fair, it's not like you have the choice of dubstep nites every week, although as has always been the case with Bristol you have a lot of people involved at the grass roots level, whether producing, DJing, running labels/radio shows etc...

there are also a lot of back rooms featuring dubstep nowadays, but like I say there aren't exactly millions of nites poppin off atm. There's enough tho, and you always see the dubstep famo at every nite, and more importantly there's loads of OTHER interesting music goin on at all times - in that respect we are truly blest. 8)

Plus it's slightly more lively than the tiny village I live in where we fashion plasters from straw to cradle our warts.

Also TC is from there and he's gr8
