^^ I am sure Rob would not play tracks without the blessing of the producers. Those are some wild accusations!

using scene mp3s and then re-encoding them to higher bitrate and mitch matching them and then uploading them in one single file added into that a mix is pretty lame (don't claim you own these through digital outlet or vinyl cos the levels and sync are exact as have been passed onto me)

why even mention boomkat or whatever> just name drop the torrent sites you get these mp3s from instead, would save both peoples time and money and enlighten them to what you do (shame on you) do these artists know the source of the material your using for these 'podcasts' ? i bet if they did they wouldnt be so kindly

thought it was cool then soon clicked on to what was actually done, really find this in bad taste considering you claim to be championing the sound yet rippin off what you preach

tsk tsk
Sorry? Where the hell are you getting this info from? He's posting this up on a forum that represents pretty much the whole scene, i think someone would have noticed and taken action before if that was the case.

Plus you back nothing up... wtf are you doing? :o

You think Rob gets paid for this work? Rob has a full-time job that has nowt to do with music, and so uses all his spare time to work his ass off to get this show out there.

You think it's easy to contact so many artists & producers asking them very nicely to do a mix or supply tracks for the show (with little or no financial incentive)?
It's not easy at all. And yet he's managed to get Milanese, Marlow, Panda & Vaccine to supply fabulous mixes. There are many more artists in the coming shows that will be airing their mixes & work.

And now that Rob has seemingly made a good impression with the electronic music scene with his shows and enthusiasm I guarantee he'll get more and more exclusives from labels wishing to promote their work.

Yes, PROMOTE.
Promote dubstep, IDM, techno, electronica, the artists, labels etc etc.
You think this show steals the artists sales? You couldn't be more wrong. And so Rob has identified some places, like boomkat, where people can purchase the music in glorious CD, digital or 7" / 12" format.

Shame on YOU for being so ignorant and jealous of what Rob is trying to achieve.

tsk tsk

Check your facts before making these accusations.

Have you actually even listened to one of these shows?

 ripping off what he preaches? Get over yourself mate. Rob's been supporting electronic music (in terms of enthusiasm and financially) for years, championing new forward-thinking music and promoting shows like the Breezeblock. He's got the support of the artists and labels involved.

i could actually look at all of these, and okay then if he'd like to reveal his soruce for

Noisia & Phace - Levitation - Collision EP - [Vision Recordings]
Cotti -I Don’t Give A Dub - [white]
Bjork - Unison (Ital Tek Remix)

cos all of these were uploaded to a few popular torrent sites then almost straight away end up on here :) i'm not doubting that the mixes aren't good, it's the fact it's a contradiction to promote the stuff directing people to buy the stuff when he obviously himself does not, also noticed

'Ghislain Poirier (Modeselector Remix) - Blazin [Ghislain Poirier myspace]'

ghislain poirier myspace? jajaja, it's an online release, not a myspace exclusive

don't be a fool. i know i'm right :)

What do you want, a cookie?

Even if you're right, and I don't know whether you are or not, do you not think Rob would buy the releases when they came out? Of course he would, he loves the music and doesn't want to see it die. Why do you think he's telling people in the podcast where to buy the music rather than where to steal it? It's promotion, the podcast is getting hundreds of downloads, which means hundreds of people are hearing those tracks for the first time there. A number of those will feel compelled to buy tracks that they like, and fortunately Rob informs them where they can do exactly that.

Milanese, Marlow, Panda and Vaccine have already produced mixes for the show, with loads of dubs and exclusives that you wouldn't have been able to hear anywhere else. Added to this, there's a great line-up of artists and djs who are up for producing a mix for the show - who exactly are you trying to stick up for?

Did you actually join up to these forums simply to make this bitchy moan?

Rob has to negotiate with all the record labels as to whether or not he can play the tracks in his podcast (in fact he commented on a music blog that this weeks show was particularly difficult to negotiate). AFAIK he is very well respected in the electronic music circles and according to his myspace works for one of the labels himself. Add to this the fact that several of the artists themselves are supplying mixes for his show (exclusively to his show, in fact).

Besides, my ears can tell the difference between a v0 track and a transcode, and its fairly obvious that Rob is not using scene rips as his source material.

Electronic Explorations is 100% legit, whether your wingeing mind can accept that or not.

1) so are you saying you DON'T EVER get music from torrent sites before buying?
don't be a hypicrote
2) by your own admission you must be on certain torrent sites to know this. not getting any rose scents off you i'm afraid.

GREAT spot. hands up if you've NEVER seen a typo in a tracklist before?
wait, more importantly, hands up if this actually *really* matters?

why hide behind a randomly created forum id if you 'know you're right'?

Cotti - I Don’t Give A Dub - [white]
given to me from my housemate

Bjork - Unison (Ital Tek Remix)
given to me personally by Ital Tek himself on his myspace page - just ask him if you dont believe me

'Ghislain Poirier (Modeselector Remix) - Blazin [Ghislain Poirier myspace]'
if you listen to my show it shows how to get the track .. on his myspace page. Exactly as I published it on my tracklist.

And the Bong Ra release was a promo given to me as a future mix is in the pipeline... (now out of the bag ..cheers)

Listen to the show before judging me.

in the future, we ask that forum members contact any of the moderators directly if issues have come up in regards to tunes posted in the mixes section.

creating aliases to get the point across is quite silly, and if we find links between newly created aliases and older members, all those connections will be made public. by privately bringing these issues up with the moderators, you can save the forum from dramatics.

cheers.

Just wanted to chime in and post that Rob is a stand up guy.

I never really do mixes, the last one i did was time ago (04 or 05 can't remember), but i made an exception for Rob as he's such a decent geezer and music pusher.

Down with the naysayers!

Another heavy electronic explorations installment.

Big up Surgeon and Vaccine for putting this together. Loved every moment, esp the shook ones remix into anaesthetic!!! :D Can't wait for the album in 08.

On the replay now...

You're right!

Yunx, NType, Plastician, Kode9, Pinch and everyone else must be downloading stuff illegally and playing it out. How else would they get all those unreleased tunes! SHIT!! :o
