hi people
i was wondering if anyone on here has set up a net label, i was thinking about going down this route, what with all the set up costs of setting up a 'live' label, pressing up records, promotion, etc etc. a net label would make more sense, even more so when you think more and more people our downloading music rather than actually going out to buy stuff. any help, tips and advice would be most welcome
peace

you might wanna ask around on that one. alien pimps "robots & cellos" was released digitally for ages and after a vinyl pressing seems to be selling quite healthily. of course it was his own label and his own chance to take, but i think the reality these days is running counter to what people seem to believe.King_Hater wrote:after you release on digital, you'll never find a p&d from anyone... noone will risk the money on something that is already out there.
of course, this is just my opinion with only one case to study, but it's worth a look, still...
