Keith was crying like a little girl when Qawwali dropped at Dub War 5. Don't let him fool you.Keith P wrote:I don't really see any room for hero worship in dubstep. I definitely respect people and am happy that their creativity, talent etc. is recognized though.
Nah, but for real... I look up to everyone who is making moves in the scene at this point. I wouldn't say it was worship, but I have got respect for those who are paving or have paved the way for the moves that I intend to make. It's all about mutual respect though... I expect the same in return from them. I buy their products, I expect a certain amount of Quality in both the artists and the records they play and put out.
Whether anyone wants to admit it, we all take something from somewhere else. Nothing is an innovation in this day and age... so as long as there is integrity and DJ's remember that they are an over glorified Jukebox... thats all I care about.
Without PRODUCERS this scene wouldn't exist. First and foremost it goes to them, then the listeners, then the DJ's who are doing the leg work... not to slight DJ's at all, as a DJ I know that I'm just a middle man between all that is really important.
Damn, another rediculously long post.
