buying records in SFO

Post by oopu » Tue Dec 18, 2007 8:46 pm

Will be in san francisco next week so...what record shops these days carry a deep selection of dubstep and bass heavy techno?? iam now so use to buying online listing to streaming clips, but nothing like being in a shop with decks (and not paying shipping fees, hey?).
ALso---any big shows in town the weekend of 12/28???

Try Amoeba Records on Haight Street.

As far as big shows that weekend...

Skream! is playing in SF on the 29th with a bunch of really good local favs (such as Djunya). Here's info for the show:

amoeba is the only place, just listen to everything on the online shops ,write a list and you're in business, you won't find anything there that you can't find at boomkat or chemical or rooted, the only other spot that had much of anything was aquarius records(but very limited)...rasputin was a waste of time...amoeba is sooo cheap too

big up oopu glad to see you're making it out again :D

Mike Bee at Amoeba is your man... as for the soundsystem it's not a club but a historical building downtown.

A quote from the horse's mouth:

"the subs are set 24.5hz - 80hz, w/ a wide parametric gain @ about 32hz. it gives it a bump right around that freq in sub where its just about out of the audible range... yet is shaking the crap out of any baggy clothes you have on :)"
