I know plenty of people who have fucked (or are currently fucking) their lives / heads up on draw, it doesnt mean im going to tell people not to blaze, nor say all that do are waste...its how you do it and the maturity of attitude you take into it thats determines what comes out of it in my opinion.

Not really, it was a comparison to highlight what i see to be an unjustified rejection of a drug based on the foolishness with which some people have gone into it.

re :dmt

just imagine closing your eyes for fifteen minutes.. and in that time spending a few hundred years wondering around some vague memory you might have had..

opening your eyes and then trying to work out which experience is actually real..

so ive heard anyway.
Only recently learnt that DMT is a naturally occuring chemical in the brain. Not in a rush to try it though, seems to be one of the most intense drugs there is.

Yeah that's pretty crazy isn't it! I heard it occurs naturally when you're born, and when you die... heard people talking about DMT being released when you're close to death - hence, near death experiences. Really interesting stuff :)

Definately, everything's dangerous when taken to excess. I'm chilling out on the weed right now for just that reason. Exams coming up and don't want my head to be fucked.

As for ket being an anti-social drug, is that really true? I've never done it so I don't know much about it, but one of my mates is a big fan, and never takes anything on his own. He doesn't even smoke weed on his own - for him taking drugs is a social thing, he doesn't get anything out of it if he's by himself.

Agree on mixing K is bad. Actually for a good k trip you shouldnt really be going clubbing or anything.

We set up a DLP projector with videos and had everything set up so it would be chill.

I don't see anything wrong with recreatinal use of drugs. If you tell people they can't do drugs you put yourself in the same place like the politicians telling you not to party.

One reason why I prefer K over other stuff (including alcohol) is that it doesnt mess with your vitals.

Firstly, i just want to say that when i said foolishness upthread, i was being very loose with my words (i was being rushed out of the library)...there are all sorts of reasons that people go into drugs in excess, and 'foolishness' probably accounts for relatively few. So just to clarify, as the wording was actually quite offensive, sorry.

About the anti-social thing, i think it can be in one sense in that it is very introspective, and at a rave/club it puts you very much in your own world. But in another sense its not, when ive done it with friends in the house, while at the height of it you're not really talking, there is a sociability in the shared experiences and understanding of one another's headstate. Regardless of which, i think there is very much a place for introspection with drugs, i love drinking or whatever other 'sociable' drug you want to talk about, but i also love spending time in my own space, thinking, and drugs of various kinds can allow you a completely different perspective, a very interesting one of which is ket in my opinion.

Ket's ok in small doses, when not too drunk. There's only a thin line between being able to function on it and being comatose though. Seems to make everything flow into one - can remember being really fucked on it, listening to tv, two different conversations, music and noises outside and feeling like it was all part of one whole flow. Everything seems to become inter-related. Seems to take the high and low end off music though so blatantly no use for dubstep.

Can remember scaring off a few people from my flat the other year when some us on K found it hilarious to intersperse the music with BBC farm animal sound effects. Playing music off the pc and decks and didn't notice anything wierd about it. Funny old drug.

Seemed a wierd drug to arrive, suddenly everyone's going out to be around other people and unable to communicate with them.

And yeah, a friend of mine used to hang around in that scene in London and said there's a surprising amount of deaths around it, when people mix it with alcohol/other drugs. So stay safe and try and have someone around that's not caned (yeah, unlikely I know).

Oh, and another thing I can remember is that dog's look at you wondering why you'd do that to yourself. Been told by a friend that the dogs at site parties used to go round pissing on k-heads - if it causes that much contempt from animals, you've got to wonder!
Hmm....

absolutely, it's great knowing that it's not just yourself that's absolutely baffled by everything.

i've always found it hilarious, but strictly as an afterparty activity. only time i ever took it in a clublike environment was at glade, and that was a very confusing, overwhelming couple of hours. the last time i had some i went completely west as well, which is not a nice experience.

i'd suggest not mixing it with too much alcohol, unless you want to stop breathing.

i've done enough k in the past, it's a disassociative, check erowid. that means it disassociates you from stuff other than your own conciousness. hence dubstep or any other music will sound thin. why bother? if your gonna do it just do it alone and put your palms over your face. mushrooms and dubstep sounds fucking great though i've yet to try it. i remember seeing the bug at glade last year (last day they were legal aswell)... coming up on shrooms it was as though the bass was like giant invisible hotdogs to be danced around like, hug the bass, hug the hotdogs man. nothing like hotdogs. anyway, when my friends pointed out that the bug had finished, we stood by joe bananas, cause they were playing the dave clarke world service electro mix. they had like this big uv light, so me and mate were like, moth dancing y'know? then these freaks were like "dunno what the fucks up with them" cause it was kinda funny, laughin our asses off and stuff. so there you go. dmt is great btw. salvia is like getting hit in the face with a psychedelic brick. dmt is like that, but fun. and its easy to make yourself with basic equipment and a couple of books.

The rather lengthy honeymoon period with K ended last year for me, can't say it's done my mental health any good over a long period of time put it that way. That's not to say I haven't had some amazing experiences on the stuff when taken at home by myself.
