Subloaded report thread!
Subloaded was proper. Not long back in London and probably not in the best condition to write a full report seeing as i haven't slept yet but everything was seriously heavy.
There were a few problems with the sound but they eventually got ironed out. What is that limiter all about? I couldn't belive it when i heard what it was for.
Set by set:
Joker - sadly i missed Joker's set - how was it?
Headhunter - deep and dark bizness, really tight set. Cha remix!
Pinch b2b Blazey - Blazey tore it up with a set of banging grime, got the crowd seriously charged up. Pinch, obviously anxious about the sound issues played some heavy heavy tracks but there wasn't really enough decktime from him.
Plastician - Skepta came down with Plastic, both sporting the fetching Boy Better Know t-shirts. Was so refreshing to hear skepta again. Seems like absolutely aeons since his last FWD appearance. Plastic was hectic as ever. He really is a banker - massive selection. Big up the duppy remix! I like to move it!
DMZ - A little more disjointed than what we've come to expect but when you've got people pill'd off their face knocking the decks what can you do. Massive selection tho. Learn was immense in particular. Antiwar dub set the crowd off big style. Pokes held it down, standard. Quality throughout.
Vex'd - in total, brilliant contrast to DMZ, Vex'd stepped up with a dex'n'fx set, mixing crunching beats with vex'd's inimitable atmospherics. The brutality of Vex'd worked really well against the dub dynamic of the Mystikz. Some of the audience seemed a bit taken aback by it at first but soon got into things. Those +up grime vocal tracks just kill it: they're almost alien sounding. Lights (Loefah mix) provided everyone's favourite singalong (in your head or otherwise).
Youngsta & Task, typical end of night set problems, the nonchemically assisted members of crowd souljah-ering on; the stamina gang. Obviously worth hanging on in for. Couple of interesting new skream bits. Tortured soul i think it was - not sure what to make of that yet. Another totally consummate yunx set.
Truly excellent first experience for me of dubstep in bristol. Great vibes, great event. Big up Pinch everytime - the man grafts!
Big up to everyone i met.
Photos to follow.

Heavy write-up, hits the spot man
Skepta smashed it for me, i thought he brought the vibe, and plastician was as usual outrageously fast and tight on the mix (i think he was using final scratch/some variation thereof, might be wrong tho). Cant explain how happy it made me to come back into the room after all the worries to find the limiter gone, the sound big and Plasticman rinsing it!
Was a shame about the mans bumping the tables but what can be done?! DMZ still tore it up proper, as one would expect... Mala is too big... Learn, Blue Notes, Left Leg Out, i could go on and on, and Loefah brought extreme weight...oh my gosh Mud is such a ridiculously large tune, still got those hi's rattling through my head. And a rare and very very welcome appearance of Da Wrath VIP big up loefah for bringing that one back out, i love that tune as much (if not more) now than i have ever done
Vex'd were killing it from what i saw, they have obviously been working hard on their live set, very very tight and confident. Unfortunately their set was cut short for myself as the rigours of academia screamed for my attention, much to my obvious dismay. But regardless, i travelled home very very very contented
Big up Pinch and Blazey, you guys smashed it
Cant wait for the next one

It's so difficult with that limiter - most nites haven't had any problems with it, but the council seem to pick on Pinch for some reason. Last Subloaded in October was the first nite when they fitted it and again it messed with the sound a bit.
Basically, the club nearly lost its licence last year due to a particularly vocal bunch of residents complaining about noise pollution, and also claiming that it's just full of drugged-up lunatics (not always the case). After an online petition, they agreed to renew the licence, but only if they fitted a limiter. For some reason, they decided to re-adjust it this weekend due to renewed complaints.
Anyway, once the sound started working I thougt the nite was great, propa wicked vibes cos everyone was so happy the volume got turned up. Highlights for me were Skepta droppin a couple of tight verses, Loe's 3rd Choice remix, Mala tearin the roof off with Anti War Dub and Left Leg Out, Vex'd playing some fucked up remix of Fallen (was I imaginin this?), and seeing my flatmate so drunk by the end of the nite that he could hardly stay on his feet.

Absolutely massive. The vibe in the swan was absolutely ridiculous. Big up everyone involved, they'll be talking about these nights for years...

Had a well good night, & a well patient crowd, all good sets I thought, but the stand out for me was Youngsta, closely followed by Blazey and Headhunter funnily enough, since you had to be imagining what they'd sound like at volume.
Really great crowd and attitude as seems to be the norm west country wise.
