New VX Dubs 2008 (all 320s)

Post by victorxray » Tue Jan 01, 2008 10:08 am

A new track for a new year just finished the rough mix today. This one is called The Lamplighters. It's got a great woozy bassline that's not pitch accurate - it's a pitched down sample - and a off-kilter beat. I really quite like this one. http://vx.autonomous.org/320s/hermes/Th ... ghters.mp3

A rough cut of one I call "Fire Bed Dub". I like the space in this one; it's nicely minimal but not minimal techno, really like a cross between digi-dub and dubstep. Actually if you crank it up from dubstep-tempo to around 180 bpm it suddenly becomes Dancehall Stylee! http://vx.autonomous.org/320s/hermes/Fi ... ughCut.mp3

New version of a track called 'Death Groove 9000' that I posted here earlier last year: http://vx.autonomous.org/320s/hell/Deat ... ripMix.mp3

And another one, 'Poseidon's Lair': http://vx.autonomous.org/320s/hermes/Po ... Remixd.mp3

Happy New Year!

Here's a new version: http://vx.autonomous.org/320s/hermes/Lamplighter.mp3

I ruffed up the drums a bit, added phase effects on keyboards, added a little tape saturation on the bass, and shortened it by a minute. Also the song title is now simply "Lamplighter". Old version (above) deleted.
