Everytime I've been DJing and records lay scattered all over the place I always swear I'm going to put them back next time. But it never happens. Takes up mixing time.

That might not work in the end, because timecode is sensitive data...

If the skip is early in the record, there ought to be a start offset setting... Serato Scratch Live has one.

i've seen a vinyl half melt thru sunlight.. can't remember which tho.. and i was at ma DJs house and he had a vinyl with a chunk missin and almost teeth marks around the chunk... i thought it might have just been a subtle reminder to quite the puffin'.

Worst ever. Having a mix with your mate and trying to tell him politely to stop fuckin your records! This is not the DMC!

Yes! Have a lil helper to take them out for you and put them away!

I got a few tunes greased up from when those mates come over for mixes, have chicken burgers and want a mix.. without washing their hands first... takes the fucking piss!!!!

im surprised nobody has mentioned dogs eating vinyl

the last record destroyed was ASBO single my boston terrier got that one. My other dog has gone though an original dj ss lighter and some old congo natty. Congo natty wasnt too upset about, but the lighter broke up my LP set.

Loads of old jungle from when i used to be careless about sleeves when i was drunk.

I was most gutted about my a cappella of 'Shook One's' being scratched, especially as I didnt realise it was until I was playing out at Electroworkz...i think i had a hissy fit at the time actually!

Years ago my cat jumped on my turntable as a treasured vinyl was playing.

Scratched vinyls get me so fucking pissed off aswell, nothing worse then playing a tune then hearing a pop hear a crackle there, thinking what the fuck it never done this b4. Or worse it starts jumping you look and see a big scratch and think either, how the fuck did that get there, or why o why did i misstreat this record by leaving it outa the sleave or throwing it around, like i did a few of my vinyls in the past. Just wish vinyls were more scratch resistant like cds, i mean i got some cds that are so scratched up that i couldnt of scratched it more if i tried and they work perfectly fine no crackles pops of jumps. My copy of i dont smoke and shola ama imagine crackle so much its not even a pleasure to play em same as a few other old 1s i got. But now days i take so much care of my vinyl, out of the sleave on the deck, straight back in sleave even if it means the next tune runs out, i dont have asmuch cash to spend on vinyls these days like i did a few yrs ago.

My copy of Cajmere - Brighter Days has a skip. It sounds like fried chicken when i play it too.
