RADIO - Some guy @ RTRFM, Perth, Western Australia

Post by dubsola » Wed Jan 16, 2008 3:48 pm

Looney Choons, 1am - 6am, Friday night / Saturday morning, RTRFM

Part 1
Part 2

Recording of dubstep and grime collected in London from the last 2 years, "mixed" by me on an independent radio station in sunny Perth.

Quick intros: my name's Dave Clark, DJing for 10 years, ran this radio show for 5 years, then moved to London 2 years ago. Mate took me to DMZ where I heard dubstep for the first time. This is what I walked in on. Liked it, started buying it, and when I went back to Perth for a holiday, I took all my records I'd bought. The guy doing most of the talking is Dave Miller, an electronic music artist of some repute. He was the one who took me to DMZ for the first time.

Quick disclaimers: I haven't actually mixed any records since moving here, and this was my first mix while I was there. I was drinking rum, and so was my friend Dave Miller who was doing most of the talking. Consequently, the mixing is questionable, and the talking is some funny shite.

About Looney Choons: Started off as a techno/electro show, probably about 15 years ago, but now plays all sorts of nighttime electronic music.

About RTR: Perth's greatest radio station - independent, diverse, and first station on the FM dial in Western Australia. Sister station in Melbourne would be RRR, not sure what it is in Sydney.

About Perth: One of the world's most isolated cities, stuck out on the west coast of Australia. It is sunny, with awesome sandy beaches, and a very chillaxed lifestyle. When I left, there was no dubstep, and when I went back, all my mates were playing it! Weird eh? The week before I got there, Caspa played - probably Perth's first dubstep international.

Enjoy!
