Live Dubstep

Post by lowflyingowl »

Just wondering if anyone knows of any live dubstep, i.e. incorporating live instruments into dubstep, like a performance. I would imagine it could yield some pretty interesting stuff, like live drummer, a laptop, sax, trumpet, vocals? Whatever works.
Anybody know of people doing it out there?? :?:

In finland is atleast one live group Latvamäki & Haapakoski feat. Levon Zoltar . Artificial Latvamäki on laptop, some guy Haapakoski plays bass and synthesizer, and Levon Zoltar on turntables. Sum wild Shit. Somekind of techno/dubstep/electro.

That Digidub stuff is hot. Like the live vids.

Ha..ironically I play saxophone
But come on..HATE is a bit strong..you clearly haven't heard anything decent.
Coltrane????
Charlie Parker??
Sonny Rollins???
Fela Kuti for sure.

I reckon live drumming would be good, it would allow for some more interesting rhythms something which works around the basslines and plays with the rhythms? Anyway just a thought, maybe an interesting concept see what happens..The Jazzsteppa stuff sounds good.

Vex'd live is one bloke on the 'tables and the other on the lappytop. its sorta live i suppose.

a live drummer in a dubstep group would probably die of boredom before the set is over!
