Campbell?
Jenas?
Hargreaves?

You know what I'm not even fussed about Lennon and Walcott I like them as gambles but there are some seriously strange selections. Why waste 3 spots on a one geezer who has been out half the season coz he can't handle the heat, a lightweight midfielder who hardly plays for Spurs and some wasteman from Bayern Munich Reserves!?!

What was wrong with Wes Brown, SWP, Defoe or AJ??? He always bangs on about impact players what the hell is Campbell offering us that Carragher can't do better than him? What will Jenas or Hargreaves bring to the table if we're a goal down? I'd prefer pure pace from the likes of AJ, Defoe or SWP...for christ sake SWP isn't even on stand by. You've got Nigel fucking Reo Coker!?! What the fuck! Ah well that whinge is out of my system now...

AJ 4 ENGLAND!! :D

AJ's crap, where are Darren Bent and Dean Ashton?

Very strange selection IMO, especailly with only taking 4 strikers. Sounds to me like he's planning on playing a Chelsea-style 4-3-3, especially if Owen and Rooney don't make it.

yeah ok Sol's a good player he lost it for a bit but has looked solid since his return hargreaves can fuck off back to Canada, and Walcott i think would be useful at the end of games for his sheer pace and exuberance

and our opposition will be playing a 2-4-4 everytime with that strikeforce...

at least he'll be fit and he would be useful in the last 15minutes just to run at tired defenders

christ you know it never occurred to me that the inevitable consequence of dubstep basically being a croydon thing would be: palace fans.

*shudder*

i'm fine with walcott and lennon travelling too. it's jenas and hargreaves i can't explain.
a lightweight midfielder who hardly plays for Spurs and some wasteman from Bayern Munich Reserves
absolutely spot on description. the two most pointless additions to any squad. hargreaves especially.

AJ is crap...yeah good one, let me guess you watch football on Match of the Day and support Man Utd OR even worse you're Scumwall, West Sham, Brighton Bum boy or a Clowntown supporter....Either way you're clearly commenting on matters you don't understand.

I for one am happy Bent isn't going, AJ scored just as many goals in a lesser team and has a better all round game. Bent looked completely lost when he made his debut he didn't have a clue how to play with his back to goal...nor does Defoe in my opinion!

Still in shock about Campbell, Hargreaves and Jenas on reading the squad in a more composed fashion I would have almost definitely preferred SWP, AJ and either King, Parker or Defoe. I wouldn't have taken Green either he has looked bloody ordinary, I would have taken a young prospect along for experience like Carson. Also still can't believe Young and Reo Coker warrant a place on the stand by list ahead of SWP, Brown, Parker or King...they would have every right to be upset...if not angry.

Leaving SWP is a bloody disgrace, people must have short memories but this is the same geezer who scored on his England debut by dribbling it from the half way line and the same guy who used to score from 30-40 yards for fun at City...bloody Chelsea Reserves black hole of football!

AJ 4 England!!

i assume you're not taking that aggressive tone with me? because, yknow, i used a  . the internationally-recognised symbol for 'don't get aggy with me'. even if i am a wimbledon fan. no bad-mindedness to the palace anymore, not now we're afc.. incidentally who or what is clowntown? it sounds fun.

I dunno... Terry can score, so can Cole and Lampard and Gerrard, and you never know Beckham might not get kicked all the way round the ground this time so he might actually be able to play... so I don't think the lack of dedicated strikers will be that much of an issue. Lots of young blood too. Campbell's a question but he is back on form. Jenas et al I don't think contribute that much that isn't in the picked squad already...

Some strange decisions by Sven!

Walcott is undoubtly a gamble especially as he just doesn't have any experience of top level football. I would have included a proven striker maybe Defoe or Bent but persoanlly i would root for Ashton. I saw him play for 2 seasons at crewe whilst at uni and he has matured into an all-round striker plus he has a fair amount of pace too.

Jenas was awful when he first signed for spurs but has developed well over the season. Started to impose himself at times but certainly is not world class yet.

Campbell should not be going, i feel gutted for King who would have been fit in plenty time.

Lennon may well step up his game as he can look explosive at times but is also a bit lightweight (if the defenders can catch him!)

Certainly doesn't fill us all with hope and expectation unless Rooney and Owen are match fit and sharp.

Seems a bit strange to me...

Sean Wright-Phillips! Why not? I think some BIG stage football could be just what he needs.

And Jenas? He's good, but he's not that good. Another out and out goalscorer would make more sense to me.

Defoe, Bent, even Harewood!

Look on the bright side, at least you aren't taking "Tartan Army Player of The Year 2005" Phil Neville.

What do I care tho, I'm supporting Trinidad & Tobago.

They have 6 players who play in Scotland. And guess what? They're all shit.

(except Russell 'Lothario' Latapy, who is a legend, and takes his ma shopping)

Is this the pre-final-decision selection? I'm gunna have to check this out for meself....
Who does Hargreaves play league football for? Either way he fuckin sucks for england, never once seen him make a decent contribution.
Walcott?! Great little player, but come on.....surely he aint ready...
Aaaron Lennon on the other hand, he should be in there.
Jenas and Hargreaves fook right orrf!

I don't believe it was you who said he was crap hombre so any aggy-ness wasn't directed at you. Clowntown are Charlton (who are incidently bound to go down without Curbs)...I've got alot of time for AFC been to a couple of matches down at Kingsmeadow, due to my current student digs location in Kingston...you guys can't afford another season like the one just past I hope you get promoted next year, ain't about stagnation with your wage bill! Hmm scarily similar to Palaces situation, DOH!
