for real. after peel died, she's one of the only people taking risks on radio one. she'll play nearly anything. plus, she's not nearly as annoying as zane lowe. :D

i find her gushes of unadulterated enthusiasm very sickly. but she's playing out the dubstep - including bruno - so she gets the props!

LOL. seen.

but anything's better than fergie or zane lowe. i'm telling you, the bbc never recovered from losing peel. mary anne is the nearest to it.

exactly! where do her true allegiances lie? with the future sounds of dubstep or with her obvious love of heavy metal? she spews superlatives so freely about everything and anything that you cannot help to have a few trust issues!

but not because she's a 'she creature' eh ;)

no haha reading back i was worried maybe people might think the implied attitude is that dubstep is a boys' club. not so !! I just find the woman really creepy, in the same was as i if style mag dickheads started creaming over DMZ or whatever. Probably a good thing in the long run but irritating non the less

Mary Anne Hobbs brings Radio 1 back from the brink. She plays some really dope stuff on her show and genuinely loves the music (the fact that I've seen her out at quite a few filthy rave-ups attests this). Okay, she enthuses pretty heavily about things, but if she continues to keep plugging such decent music then I think I can live with that. The number of factual errors on Breezeblock is a little annoying though - it doesn't take too much effort to credit releases correctly. But I don't think there's call to be suspicious of her.

I remember zane when he was a freshfaced kiwi hiphoppa and he was pretty smarmy then too, but very talented...

you guys heard of breaks co-op ???

that was him and a tall guy hamish who me and another mate used to try and make hiphop with a lifetime ago...

...must be something about us kiwis :P
