Collecting of strange things

Post by spellfire » Sun Feb 03, 2008 2:49 am

Anyone out there have a certain thing (or things) they collect?
I work in a junk shop on Sundays and am just surrounded by oddities and rare bits and pieces.

Bolts, nuts and screws that I find lying in the street. Got a drawer full of them here.

dust...

**edit
I mean my house collects dust, me on the other hand can't think of anything that's "odd" just the typical shot glasses...oh and chopsticks now too. Just recently since my room mate is always in Asia for work.

My house also collects dust.
I found an old instrument that looks like it could be a dentist tool, it's really well made and super fine quality...... Could be the start of an old medical instrument collection. I only really collect comics and old cupboards where the comics are stored. I guess collecting medical tools is a bit of a giant leap. meh.

What else do people collect?

I seem to have collected a lot of records, which whilst in itself is not strange, the realistic time I can expect to listen to them in does make a lot of it rather pointless.

Also seem to have an enormous bag filled with carrier bags that could probably diminish if I ever recycled them or actually remembered to reuse them. Bang go my green credentials
Hmm....

5000 aint a collection, barely fills half one of them Ikea Epedias.
A real collection is a thing of beauty and slightly makes me aroused.

Ive got about a year and halfs worth of National Geographic, i only buy it to read on the train and for somthing to roll on. Really need to sign up to save myself mega pounds.

i used to collect bookmarks when i was a kid... then as i got older i became naughty and just started folding corners of pages... book blasphemy, i know.

i also used to go mental on the flyer collecting tip, but not so much anymore. i do keep several copies of the ones i write though, so my portfolio is always up to date.

these days it's all about the shoes... but that's not really odd. ask any female.
i'm takin this show on the road.

About 11 feet if laid end to end. Too many to count that's for sure.
