Yeah, when I first got Kala it was on constant replay. Sort of cained it too much I think. Might have a listen again...

Love the cover art as well. 80s mash-up overdose!

I wasn't a fan of Arular when I first heard it, so I was a bit predisposed to not liking her.

Kala on the other hand was a much better album, i thought, and I still give it pretty heavy rotation.

i want to hate her, but live she is the bizniz. only prob w her is blatant, diploesque nicking of other tunes w/o crediting them properly (see jimmy and that wilcannia mob tune off kala...)

she does her own thing, and the beats on kala are pretty amazing. I can take or leave her vocals though.

I saw her live ( also got on stage to dance wif her )
and the energy was great. I forgave her when she said ' whats up philly ! '
(she was in florida) but I think she was put on pedestal. The beats are ill, but I can take it or leave it. I do like Boyz quite a bit.

I wouldnt say for a second shes a novelity. the bulk of her lyrics touch on some next level issues, that most have not even began to consider yet. She co-produced her entire 2nd album with the likes of Dave Taylor[switch/solid groove], threesixmafia, and Blaqstarr, just to name a few. And hate him or love him, she was introduced to the public c/o diplo, & there is no denying that he has an ear for fresh.

I definitely love diplo. And yes,on her first album she was fresh and all... but I couldn't even explain, to be honest.
