off to uni

Post by bobby » Mon Feb 25, 2008 9:35 pm

hey everyone, I'm living in Cambridge at the moment and am off to uni next year. I might end up in Farnham in Surrey, anyone know if there's a good dubstep scene around there.

The other place is Westminster in Harrow which is really North and most London dubstep seems down South.

Any ideas?

Harrow? your in London where many people would kill to be for the dubstep scene. Anyway students are generally a receptive bunch start your own thing at uni.

There's nothing in Farnham other than the odd pub, it's a small, albeit lovely, town.

Can't even think of a town nearby that would have anything except London (35 miles away).

Guildford isn't too far, thats where im at Uni. There is a night down at Surrey Uni, and we're doing the odd gig in Guildford.

That said tho, your best bet is just to head into London.

don't go Farnham!!! I went to uni there..it's alrite course wise, but the union is WACK!!! the town is quiet as hell and the train to london is over an hour!!! courses and everything is really good there, top reputation in the art and design world, but as a place u will wanna get out of there SOON after arriving!!! I suggest u go and pay a visit to both uni's before making a decision!!

Cambridge crew!

If you are looking at LDN consider Goldsmiths if you can get in. I'm at Southampton and kinda regret the decision to not be closer to the capital ..... It's getting better down here though.

Or go to Bristol.

thanks for the replies. Doubt I'll go to uni at Farnham.

What do you lot know about South Bank and East London unis? I got in to both of them. I'm doing film production and digital film production at South Bank.

Off to an open day at the weekend and gonna catch DMZ should be huge!
