Well although the core of the scene is pretty tight, there is certainly a insurgence of people that I feel no musical or intellectual affinity too.

A small part of the new wave of dubstep audience, with their false impression that because they express their every spasm on an internet forum, think they're pushing the scene forward, can sometimes put me off the scene as a whole. While I'm still involved in this music, they can fuck off.
Kode9 interview
Where's this taken from, got a link? Pretty damning, like that in a statement :D
He's talking about you tho

In fact I believe the question was ''Kode, what do you make of posters like Shonky and Corpsey on the dubstepforizum?''

Heh, Kode is intelligent though. As he does not dispute these claims.

loooollll well, i try and be encouraging. im in automatic pilot these days cos spiraling into all these in-jokes and taking the mick out of each other on forums is a bit of a childs game these days. i wonder where serious producers find the time to waste (assuming ur all serious producers of course)

Not really, they tend to get a bit suss about setting up DAW's on work computers.

Still pisstaking is sort of creative, possibly. Can be more entertaiining than a lot of dubs I hear too.
Hmm....

So if I'm serious I should be devoting every free waking minute to producing?

Fuck that, man, it's supposed to be fun.

I know this thread is a piss take, but the serious answers on here...

I still find it funny that people think that production and twatting around with buttons makes for a good tune...

And that people proclaim to be 'producers' when we all know that producers who actually ARE producers are the ones who stay away from the buttons. That's what the couch at the back of the mix room is for...

Silly people.

Yeah, unless you're creative all the time you're just gonna churn out shit if you're not inspired

£10 Bag wrote:Well, I've been making a lot of music recently, but it's just not 'good' if you know what I mean.

I'm having trouble getting my drums to sound right, and making my bass work with my drums so they sound 'proper' and 'professional'.

If anyone has any VST and VSTi plugins that will improve my music, I would really appreciate links to them. Preferably free because I'm not going to spend money on software.

Also, can anyone explain how an EQ and compressor works?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like u have alot ov learing to do mate as far as im concerned, all i have to say is practise makes perfect, no 1 can tell u how 2 make a tune, only u can, and to be honest, theres a saying, eaither u have it or not!!!!!!

Listen to as much music as u can, and dont just listen to dubstep, myself and the rest ov ase listen to alot of different genre's that we feel deep down in the heart, and what ever comes out, its comes out!!!

Plus, you cant plan a tune, it should come natural brother!.
