Work
yeah but theres always something constructive u can do even under the eye of the man - surely?
Not really, they tend to get a bit suss about setting up DAW's on work computers.

Still pisstaking is sort of creative, possibly. Can be more entertaiining than a lot of dubs I hear too.
So if I'm serious I should be devoting every free waking minute to producing?

Fuck that, man, it's supposed to be fun.
lol! well mate depends wot u want from it. if u want a succesful career u best believe u got to spend every waking minute on this thing. i personally dont just make dubstep, im involved in electro, funky house and bassline too. im also about to work with some milfy and her sexy relative on their solo singing careers at some point. trust me its a life style ting...

is it really? i thought it was about making good tunes. now i'm confused. i gotta find me some milfys and start making funky house!

how do you get kick drums sounding so good? i really love the way house music has phat monotonous kick drums that persist for 6 full minutes.
how do i get this sound? is it a case of eq and compression or do i sample another producer's kick drum off vinyl and use a vanguard vst for some blippy noises? i've given up on dubstep and djing, i think i might make some house now. any tips?

wot i mean by music being a life style thing is its an integral part of my life. wether it be making music, listening for inspiration or networking with other musicians, producers, dj's etc. its AWOL - A Way Of Life, its a full time thing. i like to delve into other musical worlds and put my take on it while at the same time tryna formulate my own sound with my other producer friends. basically u either get it or u dont and allow the sarcasm its a bit stupid

sarcasm is hilarious, its less stupid than saying 'allow' when you mean 'stop'.

regardless, how DO i make a good tune? nobody has told me yet, does nobody know? is everyone's music 'bad' as opposed to 'good'? or are people reluctant to help me out? or maybe you think i'm taking the piss?

please help, my speakers are covered in peanut butter and i've been eating nothing but ham for a week straight

i know u lot dont speak like that in bumpkin territory, so its not really about telling others how to speak when they r from a different place to u. at the end of the day ur obviously taking the piss but good music comes from a person who is sensitive to sound and symetry and who has an ear for tonality and an abstract mind.

Come on people, only 2 pages to go for the record of the longest most pathetic thread of the production forum.

its not my fault cornwall is bumpkin territory, blame all the people that move down from london and birmingham.
i dunno where symmetry comes into making music though? is that how you get phat kick drums in a house tune?

i thought this thread would serve the purpose of making people that post stupid threads think twice. there's so many 'ez how do i make dubstep?' threads and 'ne advice?' threads. this thread has had nearly 2000 views, maybe some of those people will think twice about posting an equally stupid thread. judging from some of the serious replies in this thread though, i'm not so sure :?

There will always be threads like that. Ignoring them seems to me a better option than making them the most reads.
There could also be an ultimate anti-ham toucher sticky with a couple of rules about retard questions and the good use of the search function?

great idea but i doubt it would work. the sticky in the mixes forum saying 'dont do all dmz mixes' has had fewer views than even THIS topic. people don't seem to pay attention to sticky threads or moderators and admins unless they directly point the finger and TELL them to stop posting stupid topics. taking the piss out of the people that post repetitive topics is both amusing and probably more effective at stopping them than simply ignoring them, or saying 'use search'
