Send them an email rather than shouting about it on here. If you've done that then give them a call

Doubt you will find too many people on here who have had the same experience as you.
Act like an adult and take up your grievance with the shop, it's likely to be a geniune mistake by SOTU or a royal mail fuckup.

Nothing wrong with a moan though. I think overall they have a great service but I cant get my head around the P&P prices. Is it something to do with being based in london?

love SOTU...always in there when record shopping..easily the friendliest bunch in soho on the record shop frontm, and always have a bounty of new releases on the wall.
Not naming any, but some soho shops seem to have much less friendlier, less interactive staff...i've always considered record shopping a bit reclusive and individual, but a little customer interaction and interest goes a long long way for customer satisfaction.

If you have the chance, visit SOTU in person, strike up a chat, and all your grievances on their (i agree extortionate) P&P prices will be diminished.

I'll name one. Phonica. Might be different now but I wouldn't know because I refuse to go in there.

Stuck up their own arses, massively.

I'm a customer, I'm polite to you and I'm the one paying. Put a smile on your face, stop thinking you're lord of the universe because you sport an stupid haircut and work in a cool record shop.

Everything I hate about certain types of Londoners is epitomised by that place.

Wish they were reading this.

:D

Edit: Saw Bunzero's post...Oooops!

iv got nothing but praise for sounds of the universe tbh
dont let this thread put u off buying from sotu !

iv ordered loads from them loads previously
and every order has arived next day delivery
+ all records are sent in a sturdy mailer allso with 2 cardboard stiffners
iv never had any sleeves getting creased and bent etc due to the packageing being bent in shipping

i do agree postage is more exspensive than other shops

but they do get a lot of stuff in before other shops
eg the deepmedi 007 they just had in recently before any1 else

n besides a couple of quid is not worth crying about
especialy considering the good reliable service they provide

I found the same with them, offered Bare Dubs for a lower cost than the distributor and they said no thanks, then months down the line I go back in only to find they have the whole back-cat from ST.

Sounds of the Universe, as loads have said, are overly friendly. But they did say to me that the stock count in the shop and whats on the website is not updated together and that Mondays they have to email and let down loads of customers. I think the website is manually updated which is highly annoying, but each to their own. They are planning to change that.

Regardless though I still order from / visit the shop. Remember to check out Uptown Records. When records sell out in BM-Soho or Sounds I can almost gurantee that Uptown will have it because a lot of the Dubstep heads overlook them. You can also pick up some priceless vinyl there trust me!

Spot on...then again, this isn't the place to make that observation!
