Why would you want your sound to be the same as someone elses? Isnt the whole idea to come up something fresh and unique sounding?

Surely it's possible to have a unique sound and write individual sounding tunes without coming up with a zomg bass sound that noone's ever heard before? If you're interested in exploring the infinite possibilities of rhythmic space or writing heartbreaking melodies you might not want to fuck around for months using cack synths trying to come up with a bass sound that doesn't suck completely only to eventually end up with something fairly generic anyway...

That said, if you're not happy with the sounds you're getting out of Zeta and Massive, you probably need to work more at it rather than trying any new synths...

Dude those two synths are just as capable and 'proppa' as anything!!! Just gotta learn all the ins and outs to get the sounds you want.

Trust, rather than scoping out a bajillion home made bass vsts. Just try to learn those two synths, or even just one really really well.

You got the tools, just study and practice, have fun and fuck around!!!!!

I love it when revolutionary ideas such as this one come up. About once on every reply to a HOW-TO.
How much time have you spent thinking about your signature?

theres really two ways i guess for me...

creat my own, the resample /fx/fx/resample etc...

or just take samples and edit / fit / sequence them and then again do above ^

it can come out good either way I knoow that, just a matter of finding it. lol??

Agreed one of the best way's to learn is to copy, understand etc...not everybody needs to be an innovator.

NB* others might learn from the questions/replys posted on here, those who are probably afraid to ask (because of the response they may get)...it's not really worth discouraging it. sorry to sound ghey.]

on a level

i dont even use bass because whenever i create it even if it sounds good it dont sound RIGHT

i have no music theory knowledge so rather than make my tune sound bad i just use Sub. i find it easier 2 control and it compliments most of my tracks. plus i like 2 let the precussion breath more and because my mixdowns aint great using sub gives me more room 2 work with.

i think ppl focus 2 much on this. drums/pads r more important 2 me than the bass. but if i could make mucky blines i would be on 2 the movement.

I have old-bass VST which you can have.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

if u really want to make new sounding bass. then spend some time learning how to make decent patches out of the core ingredients of a synth.

square wave oscillator? check!
low pass filter? check!
LFO? check!

BOOM! dubstep is born.
