Yeah just stopping the track to drink some tea and then playing another one! :-)

No but seriously, it wasn't a rewind thing, he just stopped then played another track, giving the floor a break, maybe he didn't want us to get tired?
Good set all the same!

A good set up someone showed me, was to output all of the individual drum outputs into a seperate 14:2 mixer, then add your effect (reverb, Dist ect) to the four send/return on the mixer. Then turn it into a combi and you have a nice quick easy setup for ya drums. Personally, I think the NNXT is better for drums really.

"yeah, what he said :D"

maybe not a trick, but i always like to lead individual drum channels into different effects... splitting and merging (with spider) and then back to the mixer (usually creating a "mixer" just for my drums) helps me get some really distinct sounding drums out of the plane jane drum packs that come with reason ...

@dubstepusa: why do you use the 'spider'? I thought you could just run 1 channel from the redrum into the FX or into a channel on a mixer?
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

nice new trick i learned a couple days ago.
make a new note lane, say for ur hi hat run. Then twist the velocity to pitch bend/level knobs, then select all ur hi hat runs and open the tool window. randomise the velocity by about 10 percent and u get nice live hats with varying pitches and volume.

Sorry to jump in on this one!

Use the Spider Merger/Splitter to link up a few channels from the Redrum together then send the joined signal to an effect etc. Good way of appyling the same effect to a number of channels.

Here's my generic Combinator Redrum setup:

Combinator
14:2 Mixer
x2 RV7000 Reverb Units patched to Aux 1 & 2
x2 Scream Distortion units patched to Aux 3 & 4
M-Class Compressor Unit
M-Class EQ Unit

I Patch the output of the Mixer into the Compressor, link to the EQ, then link to Combi input. You can then patch each channel from the Redrum to the Mixer and that allows you to add any of the effects to any of the channels via the Aux Returns on the Mixer, plus you have the individual channel eq's on the Mixer, plus the M-Class to give an overall tweak to the EQ of the kit, plus compression.

Bosh! Phat drums!
Bored of the same old fucking shit.

Bollocks to it...
